Right on, input is appreciated. I haven't felt much of any difference from the BCAAs I've tried, either, but then again, I think my dosages were too low when I tried them. For now, since I only drink them before doing cardio, I'll just take the 2 scoops of Scivation beforehand.

Man, after I used the ab wheel the last time I posted, my abs were seriously sore for about 4 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could not believe it. I am going to use them again today, supersetted the ab wheel with situps. I felt the soreness throughout my entire abdominal areas, not just one specific area.

Yeah, that's it. My shoulder has been fine since. Now I'm wondering since I'm healed, why the frick I can't get close to my old raw bench 405 lbs again .
You still training around your injuries?

I actually took some pics but then realized I'm still a fatass, so I didn't post them, lol.
You posted this a week or two again, so I'm sure my weekend back then was good.
Congrats and happy Belated Birthday kid. Hope you had a good time.

Not sure yet dude. I'm still out of comission. I have slightly increased the ROM of the pinky, but it's still no where near healed.
I'm finally in the system and everything, so I got my vehicle decals and ID Card. I report to drill on the 17th--cooooooooooool.
I can't believe the Marines are giving that much of a bonus away---what is that 50-70g bonus for, like a 20 year enlistment!?

What's up Sarah!
Yeah, it was great and motivational. We didn't make it out to the Expo, but we had great seats to the Finals. Every time I go to the O, it makes me wanna try bodybuilding, lol. I know I can't get the diet down without a trainer who is constantly on me though, haha. For now, I'll just wait to heal and resume my strength training.
Thanks, I wish you the same!

Really? Man, I never feel it working when I do it, but a day or two later, I'm sore.

Yo! Not much dude. I haven't trained in over 3 WEEKS! . The fat loss has been slow and steady, but I will admit, so has the muscle-loss. I can see it and I can feel it. Since I haven't been eating or training, I've lost a SIGNIFICANT amount of muscle and some fat.
You think you weigh less than me, are you crazy homie---checked this morning: I weigh 192.6 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Who would have thought we would be bragging about being lighter and lighter, lol). Honestly, this sucks. I would rather lift and eat a lot. My time will come again. I already re-wrote a new program to use--it will help me get back in the swing of things. I obviously can't just jump back into a Sheiko program, so it should be fun. Mentally, I have lost all staleness in training and stuff, so I'm anxious to get back to it. It might be depressing to see how weak I have become in almost a months' time though. I have a hunch that once I get back to the swing of things, I will get back up to 200+ lbs in no time.

Thanks, Chris! I saw a new doctor and he mentioned a resection. From what I've seen and read, it seems like a very minor surgery that could make a world of difference. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm actually excited to go under the knife .
Don't sweat the weight loss, man. I've lost as much as twenty pounds and come right back thanks to muscle memory. As soon as your pinky heals up, I'm sure you'll be up to 200+ in no time.
Talk soon!

Haha, not even close bud! If I maybe retained my previous muscle mass while losing 14 lbs of fat, then I would be, but of course, this isn't the case.

Cool man. Do I think you might be at the point where you don't have much to lose with your shoulder. I don't know what else you can do man. All I know is that you have been in a lot of pain for years.
Cool man, and I'm not too worried about the weight loss. At least I am looking a little leaner. I'm not sure when my pinky will fully heal, but I'm debating whether I should go in the gym tonight or not to do what I can.
Take it easy!

Fri-10/9/09: Cardio & Abs
Cardio: (Fasted) Incline Treadmill Walking
Duration: 20 minutes
Incline: 10.0%
Speed: 3.2 mph
Abs:Situps: 20, 20, 20
Pushups: 15, 15, 15
Ab Wheel: 10, 10, 10
Lying Leg Lifts: 20 Comments: Excellent cardio session. I don't think I have ever walked at a 10% incline, so this was new and fairly tough. I might keep the speed the same next time; usually I increase by 0.1-we'll see.
Ab Work felt good, too. I threw in pushups just for the heck of it.
Pinky is slowly improving, and my weight is drastically down.

Hell yeah I can feel a significant loss in muscle mass, unfortunately. My crappy diet during this recovery time is probably the a big factor why this happened. But dude, when I get hurt, like I often have, I lose all motivation to eat properly. Good news is, I will get it back quickly.
Yeah, I'll gradually increase the speed--just don't want to fall behind, haha.

Sure, I only have a rough idea on what I will be doing though. I might try something different, but will just try to have fun with the following while I get back into things:
Day 1: Chest/Bi (Will rotate BB and DB work every other week. Toying with the idea of doing both Dynamic and Max Effort in a single workout, as well as other movements).
Day 2: Legs (Will Include both DE and ME Work. Also, rotating a Squat and a Deadlift every week. Will probably do Front & Conventional squats in one workout, then Conventional and Sumo Deads in together in another. Will include one form of unilateral movement per week, also)
Day 3: Shoulders/Tri (Giving these guys a day of it's own. When I used to do this, I was at my strongest bench. Will see how it goes).
Day 4: Back (Will limit myself to rack deads for deadlift work). My full deadlifts will be done on DE Lower Body [DE/Speed Deadlifts on leg day]). Will include heavy vertical and horizontal pulling movements, alternating compound exercises (BB Rows/T-Bar Rows; Pullups/Chinups).
This is just to get myself back on my feet. I will probably go back to doing an Upper/Lower Split, as before, but will probably play with this fun routine for a while. Either way, I gotta gradually get back into it. It's been a month since I've trained.

Hey Nick, I can finally say that my pinky is healing up well. I am very close to trying out the weights. Hopefully things will work out. I drafted a fun little program to start things off with.

Trying things out
My pinky finger is doing much better. I still can't bend it nearly have the way, but it doesn't hurt as much.
I am gonna go into the gym tonight and try some things out. Not sure what exactly I will do, and it will largely depend on what doesn't hurt. Tomorrow marks the 4th week that I've been out of the gym--feels like a lot longer.
I think I weigh about 192 lbs right now, also. Have lost a good amount of muscle and fat. Once I start training, I know my appetite and weight will come back.

hey dude!
man your weight fluxuates a lot. It seems like I stop in here one time and you're like 190 lbs and the next time you're 215 and the time after that you're 190 again. Must be from all the diet and cardio changes? My mass gains have pretty much halted it seems like. My weight hasn't changed by more than about 5-10 lbs in the last year or two.

Well man, it just felt a little better. Function-wise, it's still useless (as shown in my attempt to train at the gym). Man, it sucks but I know my day is coming. Thanks man.

Yo Jorday!
Yeah, it does appear that way. Looking at my weight chart on the bodyspace, it is very erratic but consistent; always changing. I think a factor to this is because every time I get injured, which seems fairly often, I drop weight. Then when I recover and start training and eating right, I get that weight back.

Testing my injury
Flat Barbell Bench Press: BARx20, 95x3, 135x5, 185x5, 225x5, 250x3, 275x3, 300x1
90* Strict Barbell Rows: BARx5, 95x5, 135x5, 155x5, 185x5
Standing Military Press: BARx10, 95x5, 135x5
Attempted to do: Pullups, Rack Deads, DB Curls, and Lat Pulldowns: All caused too much pain in right hand
Comments: Two things were clear from this experimental session: One, I am not going to be able to compete in the RAW/Tested USAPL meet coming up in November; and two, I am still worthless in the gym. I left the gym pretty upset and disappointed that I couldn't really do anything. The only reason I could bench and do military press is because I had to adjust the barbell so it rested only on the palm of my hand and away from my fingers, which is pretty risky to do without a spotter. I attempted a few other exercises, but it wasn't happening. Maybe in a couple more weeks.

I'm sorry to hear that you will miss the upcoming meet. At least you got in there and saw where you were at recovery wise. Hopefully just a little bit more rest will help you out. Keep your head up and just keep doing what you're doing. Damn I hate to hear this though.

Man, sorry to hear about this lingering injury bro.
Didn't you say you could squat OK?
Why not prioritize your squats? Any lunge/good morning variation seems like a possibility too? I think there is still some leeway for getting some decent training in if you can manage to have the bar on your back.

Thanks for posting the routine.
As posted just, could be a good time to work hard on legs??
I suffer from tendinitis in various places and it stops me from training a lot of the time. Know where your coming from with the disappointment, if anything though it makes me more determined. Like my injury is my body saying no, but im trying to prove it wrong if that makes sense.

Couldn't have said it better, even with the censorship.

Long time no see Iron, sorry to hear about your injury. I haven't forgotten about making a training log myself, but currently I'm just bulking up which isn't really interesting enough to write about...Once I get back into my MMA training I'll create one and let you know. Best of luck with that injury brah.

No posts in four days means the finger must now be better, right?

I haven't been active on this thing during the past week or so, and I won't be online much during the next couple weeks--gotta get some things done and handle some other matters. Will be back sometime. I was gonna temporarily close the journal but I changed my mind. Hope everyone's training is going well.
