that doesn't prove that money makes (suggest causal factor) happiness. If anything, it says money is necessary for happiness. No causal factor tho. Plenty of rich people shooting their brains out, depressed, lame, etc.

You're measuring happiness by the amount of material items someone has.
You're measuring success by the amount of money someone has.
You're measuring happiness by the amount of traveling people do.
You're measuring the quality of fun by the amount of money it costs.
for all those reasons you listed, you fail.

Not true. Had plenty of money. Did not have happiness. Without someone to share it with, money is meaningless to me.
I own an awesome house with a heated inground pool, basketball court, tennis court, nice car, property, etc. There are times I walk outside and look around (I live on a wooded lot, spectacular scenery) and marvel at the fact that it's all really mine. But it immediately hits me that I'm standing there alone, and for that reason, I'm never truly happy. Same with traveling. I've taken cruises, gone backpacking, stayed in top of the line hotels on 3 continents, been front row to 100 concerts, etc. When you don't have somewhere to share it with, it's really not the same. I can enjoy myself and all, but there's always something missing. F it all. Drink antifreeze. Live forever.

Being a broke ass motherfuc ker doesn't mean you've got someone to share **** with. I'd rather have everything you have and still be alone.

Money in and of itself doesn't make you happy. Spending it and what it reaps does.
I've never once in my life been happy just because I had a few thousand dollars in my pocket.
Doesn't mean you can't have happiness without money though. Its just whether or not you're smart and resourceful enough to get happiness from life without spending big.

I'd rather have none of it and the person instead.
No one said being broke means you've got someone... OP said money = happiness. That's blatantly false. That's all.

I just beg to differ, I guess everyone is different, I've grown up being poor, so money to me would make me happy. Gives me a lot of opportunities to travel and actually go places and meet people, pursue dreams etc not that you can't meet anyone locally, but it' just opens a lot of doors for you. A lot more chances to become happy with money, than without.
Just my outlook on it all.

U make money by becoming succesfull, ur having fun along the way, u can finally buy **** when u have money so it actually means something once you bought it.
Without money your a broke motherfuker on its way to becoming a rich motherfuker.
Might as well kill other people for money if nothing works out.

What's wrong with traveling alone? (serious). I always wanted to go traveling alone when I graduated from college. I understand the concerts and the cruises, but backpacking and traveling in general by yourself doesn't sound so bad.

Money does not equal freedom. The pursuit of money often leads to you making many personal sacrifices.

im not talking about material things, I know many traders (my career of choice) who live well below their 'means' in terms of possessions and materials but I find them to be very wealthy as they can do what they want with their time...
its about freedom to do what you want and what you are passionate about and not be a slave to the 9-5...
however you can also argue that the pursuit of greed, money and betterment has propelled technology and society to what it is today... without that pursuit of financial freedom many of the western world would not be where they are atm in terms of social/technological progression...
like anything in life a balance is usually the right combo, however I know I would rather have time freedom then be a wage slave till I receive pension
