Fitness Boot Camps?
Anyone here run a morning or after 5pm fitness bootcamp? A few of my local pt friends do and have had great success with it - what has been your experience?

Yesterday i set up 7 stations with 2 exercises at each 1 a strength exersice, followed by a cardio exercise. I had each person start at the station and do 2 min rounds at each( 1 min strength,1 min cardio) We did the whole circuit 3 times man were they sweating..lol! Just looking for other exercises to do ?

I used to run morning bootcamps in the summertime. If you're in a cold weather area, you will find your attendance drops off precipitously as the weather gets colder. Often times people don't even show up.
I used to bring little to no equipment. Some cones and bands and mats were about it. No one wants to do weights while training outside; they can get that in a gym.
The workout should be cardio intensive with stretching built in between. Take advantage of your environment. We used to run steps in the park, use the benches for dips and take laps around the reservoir. Creative and different outside routines are the way to keep people coming back.

Jumping rope stations, box jumping, burpes, bodysquats, ladder, medicine ball throws, punching bags...set up stations, do it for time or one on one races....
endless possibilities...

I run a boot camp indoors. I use minimal equipment, and sometimes no equipment at all. I try to focus on bodyweight exercises -pushups (wide and close), squats, lunges, jumping jacks, burpees, floor ab exercises, lateral and forward/backward jumps. We do use resistance bands some to help work upper body more. Sometimes I'll use cones and floor rings and setup a cardio course.
I'll mix it up and count reps one class and maybe use time the next class.

I run WOMENS ONLY bootcamps. MWF mornings and MWF evenings and they are a great income earner. Icharge the most in town (works out to be about $16.40AUD) per sesison and the camps grow and grow.
I have a pretty big studio (400m2) so there is plenty of room but we also have a park across the road to use as well when the weather is nice.
Due to people asking about it, we are starting up MENS ONLY as well.
would you rather one client paying $80 for an hour of your time or 15 people paying $16.40 ($246) per session at a camp?

HAve you guys ever done a Red verse Blue team??
Like, create teams, that are the same each week, and have routines that are based on time. I was thinking this would create great competition and motivation between teams. Members would look forward to coming each week.
This is for a business park I just came in contact with, so it should be the same people each week.
What do you guys think of that?

NEVER doubt a mans ego! As much as I can't stand boot camps, I love my income. And breaking up the classes by forcing them to compete keeps it interesting for everyone. As much as everyone thinks they are there to focus on themselves and lose weight, I always see guys trying to beat whomever is next to them.
Though I have some As*holes who get mad at the smallest thing so when a fatter guy beats him in lunges or something else, then you have to be the babysitter.

Also keep in mind that if you're a busy trainer, you can put three $80 per hour clients into one hour, maybe with the help of an assistant, and also make the $240 - during peak times, if you have enough demand, you can do at least that many -
At my studio in the peak PM hours, we'd have as many as six full-price clients in an hour, between three trainers, and then one or two more trainers doing solo sessions with special case clients -
It's a personal choice, but you can still get that income up whether it's with PT or bootcamps - there is still a very strong demand for PT, so you'll always be able to make money with that model -

I've run a few years worth of early morning and late evening bootcamps for a fitness company - I suppose it's about time to go on my own, since I do all programming for 12 one hour classes and been paid less than 1/5 of the profit, but I digress - they have been quite successful. Enrollment tends to be up in Winter when it moves from outdoors to indoors, and people start looking to ways that they can maintain activity in the cold seasons. Referrals and word of mouth is more important than anything. Don't waste time putting up hundreds of ads - invest the time instead in networking, and try to talk to a radio station about getting one free round of your bootcamp as part of a prize package sometime. Works wonders, and it benefits everyone.

Yup - it's not said enough - word of mouth is still number one in this business -
