From Columbia, MO
Just starting to get back in shape after being out of the army for over a year and really slacking off. :-(
And I agree with you jenbradleys. I would give anything to find a woman that is actually into working out. A little friendly competition can lead to better performance in all things.

Welcome back to the lifestyle!!
It must be hard going from such a structured atmosphere to having no structure at all. I think that is what really keeps me in check is that I have a routine and keep my life pretty structured. Eating every 2.5 hours and working out 5 to 6 times a week I get so caught up that I will workout everyday just because of the habbit. The only real change for me lately is I have been mixing up my workout partners. I had been working out with the same guy for almost a year and now I work out with him and two other people. They are driven by different things and am getting a better workout for it.

I'm a bit new here (bb.com) but I'm from O`Fallon Mo, grew up over in Creve Coeur.
Was also X-military sat around for a while after getting out as well. 11B Infantry ftw.
I'm currently hitting up ISSA for a Sports Nutrition certification. After which I plan to hit up the person trainer course.

I feel you on most of the things You've said, lol at the too old remark. 32, woo girl you iz Pushing it! lol.
Anyway, Eating every 2.5-3 hours is a pain in the arse. I work out 5.5 days of the week since Sunday is a day off but I hit up abs and 40 minutes of cardio so it's the .5
I try to use Thursday and Sunday to make my meals for the next couple days so that I can get enough free time to do some other things here and there. It's funny how few people actually put in the time to get the results. I've started talking to the regulars in the gym I go to and I'm finding out that even though they put in the time in training they just don't eat right at all. To me it would almost be pointless to work out that hard with out doing it right.
 Anyway, herro there peeps!

Eating right
Working out is only the first part of the battle without a doubt. I will cook 12 pounds of chicken on Sunday and portion it out for the week otherwise forget it Carb city here I come. When I need break I will cook some round. The Crockpot is your friend!! I can fit a good 5lb roast in mine and it just cooks all the fat right out of it. Love red meat!!
At my gym the lean people seem to stick together because we can talk food and routines and we are all on the same page.
Who cares if you have guns when you gut sticks out further than your pecs. I hate it when a man looks pregnant!!

Hey Hey Hey, Leave my gut out of this :P
I'm eating to gain right now. Lean Body Weight x2 added to my daily needs. I'm not competing or anything at this point and time, I'm just packing on to see where I can get. I'm going to use the zig zag modification that I saw Layne was Using 4 week Bulk 2 week cut, so I'm going to see how that works out. I've done the normal version but his version makes a bit more sense and if it works all the better.
You talked about a relationship or something with a guy I think, I find that right now I hardly have enough time for "Me" time... I couldn't even see fitting someone else into my life right now who didn't love fitness as much.
I will NOT give up any of my fitness life again for a woman :P been there done that f that.

Rock on brother!!!! I totally hear you there. My non-workout friends say that I am selfcentered for saying I won't date a guy unless he is in the gym 5 days a week. But then again my gym rat friends totally understand. The other side of that is also what you said I do not have time to date because I am working or workingout so unless you are in the gym workingout with me there is no chance in hell for a relationship.
There is a guy at my gym that is doing the same gain cut cycle that you talked about and It has been treating him right. He has been able to put on mass and still stay relatively lean.

Yeah, I'm sticking around 15% BF which is about where I started 3 weeks ago, one more week and I'm going to drop the carbs a bit and continue with the same training. I've been gaining weight pretty solid over the last few weeks of doing this so it seems to be working pretty solid. I cut a bit before I went into this method so we will see how that turns out with my current training.
What kind of training program are you running btw?

Competition in 7 months so keeping it pretty tight I am at 17% BF right now and need to shed about 7% for competition. I will eat completely clean for 3 days stright one day higher carbs but nothing crazy. I am hoping to shed without the use of fat burners this time around.

So you are pretty much doing the Zig Zag method as well huh. They say that method is good because it won't lower your metabolism and will allow you to continue losing weight while retaining the lean weight much better then other sudden drop methods.
While I'm still taking the nutritional class I do practice what they teach to make sure that it's something of value and so far all of it has been. I try not to take in any information with out first trying it out and seeing if there is truth behind it.
What kind of competitions do you do, is there one in St. Louis? I take it you go for the fitness competitions based off your pics or?
7 months is a pretty long time to drop weight are you going to be dropping it that whole time?
*edit*
The normal zig zag method is to take your lean body weight and x4, then subtract that from your calorie intake for 4-5 days then eat your normal amount for 2-3 days. Lower amounts on non training days preferred and the normals on the training days. The method behind this is that you will gain a small bit of weight perchance but you will still lose the weight (hence the zig zag, up and down). It's a slower process but again it's one that is there to save muscle.

You guessed it
I am a figure competitor but am puting on some size so that I can compete in Natural body building. The only problem is that now that I am getting more defined it is harder to get modeling jobs because they are typically looking for small frames with little muscle.
O well Love how I look and will keep adding mass as long as I can.
I studied nutrition at St. Louis Community College back in 1998. It is amazing the advances in public acceptance of some of the theries. Just wish more people would practice them long term.

I jotted something down in your blog when you where asking people about what you should do. Pretty much do what you love. Inner Happiness is worth more then the money, granted that's easier to say then to accomplish or do.
I think I read you placed 4th in one of the shows you did, that's pretty good and I think that was your first one too? I take it the show you are working for is geared for the Body Building?
More power to you for sticking with it and doing what you want to do, it's people like that who pave the way for the others to follow.
I'm kind of trying to decide what I want to do, natural or not natural. I really like Franco and Lee Priest since they are about the same height as me, but both of those guys are not natural. For the time being I've decided to push my body Naturally as far as I can take it and when the time comes to make a choice I will make sure I'm well versed on the subject and also very sure of the choice.
I'm doing good so far, I will remeasure myself tonight or tomorrow.. I've been gaining pretty steady for a while and surprisingly every time I hit the gym I'm able to go up in weight so... /shrug who knows, time will tell.
And FYI, while some people think chicks who body build are unaccepted or for lack of better words "gross" I think that as long as it's natural it's kind of hawt.
