How Skinny is to skinny?
I'm around 5'7.9 what do you think too skinny weight would be I am thinking of going to 150lbs but will this give me that ripped look? who knows but if I went to 145lbs or lower would this make me mega skinny.
I can see my abs but there not ripped as I still have a small layer of fat pinchable. My hips are 32.2" and my waist is 31.4"
Any adivse is greatful.

It all depends on what your goals really are. Are you looking to get bigger? Are you looking to be at that weight and ripped?
If your goal is to add some mass, then I would suggest going forward with a slightly higher calorie diet and gaining some lean mass but watching the bodyfat gains, then when you see a little more fat accumulating, go into a "mini-cut". Do these like that over and over until you are bigger and with the same amount of fat you have now, then the extra lean mass will hlep you loose that small amount of fat that is left easier.
If you are close to your ideal size, and want to be more ripped, then just keep with the lower calorie eating. If you need to shed a few extra minimal pounds of fat and are not currently doing this, then I might suggest swapping the diet to a low carb plan for a few days at a time.

I want to be bigger, My first goal was to get ripped then eat 200calories or so over maintenance to slowly bulk without increasing any bodyfat. I Know most wont achieve this and add fat but I do not know what my genetics are like as I have been lifting for quite a while but my diet has always sucked bad until 5-6 months ago.
I guess its a difficult question really as say 150lbs would look different depending on there frame my wrists are pretty small around 6.5". I know with clothes on Im looking pretty small now but I know this is the case even with really big guys that get lower bodyfat levels.
I posted some pictures a few weeks ago with the same sort of question but I cant work out where to go to be honest and am still cutting weight slowly, I quite like the cutting diet and I know I will have a huge transition phase. Just thinking out loud.

I don't think you have enough muscle mass to look ripped at 150. If you want some good examples of what you'll need to do take a look at WEC fighters in the 135pound weight class. Those guys range from a walk around weight of 135-150. A lot of them are a lot taller as well.

Doesn't hurt to see what you look like at 150. You can always bulk up after.

I'm strating to agree with you, I think I would look lean or leaner but for the ripped look I would need to go lower still which I think in my eyes would be to skinny/small. I stepped on the scales this morning and Im at 159.6 so 9lbs which 3lbs is water say and 6lbs fat while assuming I keep the muscle. I doubt a 6lbs drop in fat will make a huge difference. I think thats the limit though 150lbs my starting weight was 182.2lbs so its a big loss but not what I was expecting as I thought 20lbs from my starting weight I would be like a greek god lol I guess its experence though and understanding how much fat most of the population actually hold.

Don't stop yourself from looking really lean/ripped because you'll look small. I don't see a point in being bigger if I'm only bigger because of all the fat covering my muscle mass and keeping me from being really vascular. Had I listened to all the BS about being a little guy or being too skinny, light or even anorexic I would have never made it to where I am. Being shredded is far more impressive to me than being just another guy who works out but never gets massive and never looks ripped. If you have a low body fat and a fair amount of muscle mass you're going to look far from skinny. If you're a lean 150 with a fair share of muscle you'll stretch out shirts as if you were a normal guy at 170+ but have an awesome V-taper.

I agree ripped is always a good look, My first goal was the 160-155lbs mark and when I was at 166lbs I was thinking 155lbs wont be were I thought it would be. I doubt I will want to be lower than 150lbs depending on how I look when I get there, do you believe in the slow clean bulk or do you think bulking will always gain more fat than muscle. I just noticed your 150lbs at 5'11".

Trust me, when you get lean you'll be very happy with your look and you'll probably want to lean out even more. Anyhow, I've bulked at a rate of 2 pounds a week long ago and went from 140-195 in about a year, of course that was after being stuck at 140 for a long time, it took force feeding myself to gain mass at first, eating when I was already full but I got used to it. Surely the gains I had were far from pure muscle mass but my strength doubled in bench and beyond for all other exercises with the exception of curls. BUT I wasn't as lean as I could have stayed had I gained at a slower pace to prevent gains from fat. If anything just shoot for a pound of mass gain a week if you want to look bigger, according to Alan Aragon gains of .5 pounds of LBM can be gained at most if diet is in check and training is on par. Just remember that you can always cut the extra fat much faster than you can gain the muscle mass.

eat 500+ calories over maintenance not 200 calories... you can accidentally burn an extra 200 calories off by walking to a friends house or something lol its not enough of a surplus.
and post in a different section if you're trying to gain, this is the losing fat section lol

I think ill go to 150lbs and see how I feel I'm thinking the change will be big in looking skinner but I guess 9lbs wont be loads of difference. I was thinking of gaining 0.5lbs a week is 2lbs a week not really fast? Are you sure you ment 2lbs a week?

I'm 5'8" at 140 lbs, and I'm still cutting because I'm not lean enough, just an FYI. I don't go for that skinny or big thing, either you get lean, or get muscular, average seems not worth the time if you're working out and dieting to me. Just my opinion though.

He sure meant it.
At .5 lb a week is safe bet for leaning slowly out, but the draw back is the weight fluctuation due to water or your bowel or clog with crap.
I'm assuming you know your maintenance calories (+ 250 cal), go by that for now.

i'd base it on how you look/feel at a particular weight to determine if it is 'too skinny' or whatever...everyone's body type carries weight differently, different muscle mass etc. one guy at 5'7 150 might look ripped and another guy at those same #s looks emo skinny
