Compression short recommendations please?
I play hockey and pulled my quad in a game last night. I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good compression shorts, something really supportive. I've also pulled my groin a few times (maybe once a year), I try to stretch out well but it's not always enough, last night I didn't stretch much and I'm definitely paying for it!
Thanks!

This is one my friend uses and she likes it. In addition to stretching, do you perform any soft tissue work?

Thanks. I'm open to mens or womens, whatever works, if it has a jock or something I can just cut it out.

DGcoats has a good suggestion. I havent ever really used them for supporting an injury so not sure of any good ones in that respect. If you haven't already I'd suggest seeing a trainer for getting those injuries worked on.

I would also recommend a quad sleeve such as this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=260475093936 . Helps tremendously, I've used them for pulled hamstrings/quads for track. Good luck!

+1 for the pro-tec quad sleeve. It'll be much easier to focus on the pulled quad, and if it gets loose over time you can just tighten it up again. I have one for my calves and love it. But on the compression shorts themselves.. www.roadrunnersports.com has tons of long, short, tiny sized ones and good prices.. as long as having store brand products which are super high quality and I use them almost every day.

Thanks everyone. I talked to my old trainer from college and got some advice from her, and I have an appointment with a trainer on Friday.
I was originally going to go with a quad sleeve, but my husband thought that compression shorts might be a better idea, so I could wear them when I play and help prevent future injuries too. When I pulled my quad I tried to play for about 3 more shift and ended up straining my groin on the other side a little too, I think I was over compensating with the other side So I also thought compression shorts might be better for both.
I guess I'll just go try some on and see what I can find as far a support, see if I can find the brands you recommended, if I can't find any really supportive shorts then maybe I'll get the quad sleeve too!
Thanks again!

cw-x(conditioning wear)
This brand is a little bit more exspensive and seems to be fairly unknown compared to U.A., Nike, etc. but I love them. Tons of targeted support for any workout I do.

The two links above are the best for you situation Under Armour and Nike is not bad but if you keep pulling your groin it's a serious situation. Pay the extra money so you can have some better support. I know two ppl who wear shorts like these for major groin problems and it helps them out so much it's not funny.
BTW this is the link for CW-X http://www.cw-x.com/Default.aspx

wearing compression shorts is going to do very little to prevent pulling muscles. try doing some proper stretches/warmups
