That's because he's not a vegetarian / vegan. But my point still stands - soya is higher in protein per calorie than chicken breast.

No its not lmao
1 gram of protein from chicken = 4 calories
1 gram of protein from soy = 4 calories
1 gram of protein from beef = 4 calories
Now if were talking about ratios of protein to other macros? Its not at all. Its about 60% lower.

I aint hating. People are talking as though he has done well on a vegan diet to look like that. I disagree. The fact that he is vegan isnt even worth mentioning. If he was a big guy with plenty of muscle mass then it would be worth saying hes vegan. I know people who look like that or better just by training and being on a decent diet. I think you are on the haterade 'buddy'.

I'm with Lancs on this. Admittingly that BB'er looks great compared to most of the manorexic vegans I've seen running around Austin, it still isn't impressive. He has a good fitness physique can could probably up the sales of soy, hemp protein and other hippy-dippy products.

It's pretty difficult to get in enough protein when soy products are so unappetizing (in my personal opinion). I'm a vegetarian and a picky eater. It's a struggle to consume enough protein to feed my muscles.
He may not be massive, but he has two difficult lifestyles: bodybuilding and veganism. I think he's made quite an accomplishment.

You just got told son. lol @ soya being more anabolic than chicken. Chicken, an age old bodybuilding staple. Do you know how jacked chicken has made people for decades???

LOL at vegans but on a side note he looks pretty ripped. It's a shame to think what he'd look like with a better diet for bodybuilding.

In every thread having to do with veganism, you'll find a stupid response like this...
Anyway, I'm not a vegan myself, but I respect the choice. That guy's got a decent physique, but there are more impressive ones featured on the website...

the guy looks shredded, but as others said he could put on some more size. Still, very impressive and certainly beyond where I am right now.
But one thing I have to ask is...where are his lats? Is he standing in such a way that they disappear? Because they look nonexistent in his front poses.

Most people go vegan because of negative health conditions they have or want to prevent if they are not doing it for some esoteric bull**** reason. There is a whole science to acid/alkalinity that is practically ignored by our physicians. Some people may not have these health conditions and therefore can persist in eating meat. The reward in greater energy I get from going vegan outweighs the lethargy I felt while eating meat. This is all personal preference. Of course eating meat will pack on mass and going vegan generally will not without serious concern in regards to calorie count.
Let's be frank.... on a heavy meat/lifting diet most of us could achieve their physiques in less than 2 months (assuming weak physique existed). At least I know I could. In fact, I could probably do it in 2-3 weeks. There's no point in trying to compare these guys.

A gram of protein is 4 kcal, no matter where the protein comes from.
Chicken is almost all protein, with very little fat. I don't get what you are trying to say here

A vegan diet would only work on those that have mesomorph bodytypes, vegan is definitely not the way to go for people who have ****ty genetics. If he looks like that as a vegan its largely genetic.
