If I were you brah, I would cut a little first. Get down to at least 15% and then start bulking.
I really don't think you have all that much muscle to worry about losing at the moment, so just go ahead and get that %s of body fat down a little then go for the bulk.
Keep lifting heavy though 3x a week and do some light cardio. You'll gain a bit of muscle even though you're cutting if you're a noob lifter.
Btw, we're the same height! Woohoo!

I say try to mass up, because you can get heavier lifts in with a higher body weight. When it comes time to bulk up, you are most likely going to need to eat for size concidering you don't have a massive foundation to build off of. If you cut down to a low body fat %, its going to be frusterating trying to bulk up while trying to stay lean. You are going to need to be a lot more disciplined with your dieting trying to bulk while maintaining a lower body fat. Bulking up on low carbs and calories is something you aren't going to enjoy trying to do. Eating for size is a great way to turn into a massive wrecking ball, and since you haven't started cutting, i'd recommend using this opportunity as a means to put on some serious size, so when you cut you come in at a lean, but with a nice muscular build. Not sure if its true..but "they" say you burn more calories when you have more muscle mass. I'd say its easier to cut weight being big, than gain weight staying super lean. Just an opinion tho.

I really think it's kind of silly for someone with lots of fat(over 10% in my opinion) to start bulking. You'll go from looking alright to looking worse with more body fat that MAY come from bulking. Also, it's pretty wise to keep in mind that you can cut body fat down at a much faster rate in terms of weight than you can gain muscle mass. You can create a better look in a shorter period of time from cutting than you could bulking up.
OP: It looks like you've bulked enough by the way, it's time to get lean. Then CLEAN bulk and lean out again, good luck.

i know, pwn3r. i know. but i was kinda exaggerating a little bit to make everyone feel better.
as i mentioned in another thread, we look better than everyone else out there, anyway. so, carrying around a little extra over the winter is...meh.

You don't have to do cardio after you lift weights, you can do that on a separate day. But if you feel up to it, by all means, just don't want you to get burned out.
Try walking at a 15% incline on the treadmill for 15 minutes after weights, I dare ya! I still have trouble running it the whole time.
What are your macros and daily caloric requirements?

You're right but comparing ourselves to other people out there is pretty fail. Most people are pretty out of shape and don't even attempt to take care of themselves, my only concern is to improve myself in any way, shape and form on a daily basis Believe me guys, I can't wait to add inches to my sleeve busters but it's going to take a looong time for me to have 20'' biceps. Hopefully in 5 years I'll be there.

What the hell? Why on earth are you eating 2170 calories a day if you are cutting? Are you losing 1-2 pounds a week?
I eat a ****ova lot less than that and I'm pretty certain I have more muscle than you, but you may have a faster metabolism than I do.
Just watch the scale closely because I have a feeling you'll probably have to lower that.

For our height? I doubt it.
If I were you, start with 1800 and check your results in 1-2 weeks. Although I have a feeling you'll have to drop it even more, but you may be lucky.
I have to drop mine to 1,000-1,100 before I continued losing. At 1800-1700 I lost a little but then it stopped.
1800-1900 is about maintenance for me.
Becareful dude, if you decide to stick with what it says, just watch the scale. Those caloric calculators are an extremely rough guide at best.

For me, cutting lead to abs which was all the motivation I've ever needed to get and stay lean.

Well, I imagine I wouldn't be much help to you. I'm a raw foodist. I eat 95% unprocessed, uncooked foods.
The 2% being from my weight gain supp and creatine. 3% from 2 cooked meals on the weekend.
I feel great though. If you can pull it off, you'll feel awesome.
I still eat meat too. Don't have to be vegetarian/vegan to be a raw foodist.

I only said semi because you gave a guess for caloric intake and said to watch the scale =/ Both of those can allow for failure. They can also work on the flip-side.

1,000 - 1,100 that's extremly low for me. I cut at around 2,200 & I eat plenty of rice!!!
OP I guess try 1,800 - 2,000 and check again in 5+ weeks, I did not see any results at all until the 5th week. GL
