after 2 years
ive been at it for 2 years now, and i know ive come along way in the strength dept, but not so much in build. but i am 6'5" so i kno it'll take me longer...my first pics were taken at 225 of 0 muscle, i went through a bulk up phase and made it to 260, and now im back down to 230...so i only have a 5lb change in weight. when i was at my first pics, for instance my one rep max on flat bench was 155, now im prolly along the lines of 305...i guess im wondering if anyone else sees any progress? it just SUX being so tall with a big frame

Has it been 2 years on and off? Or have you stuck to a routine.

i dont see much difference except the lighting. Your stomach is still clearly visible underneath your arm. your chest is lagging big time. For 2 years, this is very poor.

i kno its poor, i just see myself as coming from not ever lifting a thing r any sports what so ever, i feel better, like i said, i kno itll take me alot longer because of my frame to fill out... unforutnatelly im not like some of these 5'6" ppl who can blow up in 3 months. and no im not trying to justify myself, just tryin to maybe convince myself to be motivated... im too self conscious, im suprised myself to have taken things this far...

Whats your diet like and do you go heavy at the gym, 2 most important aspects plus consistency. TBH poor results for 2 years, especially noob gains etc. My honest advice would be to reassess all aspects of training, diet and rest and tweak until perfect.
Also height takes longer to fill out. good luck none the less

honestly my diet has been never really consistant, for about 8 months i was eating nothing but chicken eggs and broccoli...i never really was consistant with my lifting i would go heavy when i had a spotter, and not so much when i didnt, and now with my work schedule, 2 wks days, 2wks nights...its gonna b even moredifficult to train consistantlly... now my diet is vairying between the chicken, talapia, and mixed veggies, i try to avoid carbs cuz its easy for me to put on fat...im tryin to mix cardo in with my lifting, but isnt doing both defeating the point of tryin to gain?
i gues my question is, should i be tryin to cut fat , being "rippped" really isnt a concern of mine, cuz i know because of my body type, that something that would be not feasible for me to maintain or gain, at the point im at right now?

I am in disagreement with the above poster. I did see some improvement in muscularity. And obviously if your bench went from 155 to 300+, you did something right. Powerlifters aim to gain strength and maintain weight, it's not an uncommon lifting style. I did it for many years, taking my bench from 275 to 410 while only gaining about 10 lbs.
What you need to do now, is to work on building the dietary habits up, that will allow you to maintain your muscle mass, while steadily chipping away at your body fat stores. Eat high in protein [1g per 1lean lb of body mass,] get your amount of EFA's, and drop carbs below maintenance 300-400cals. Add in cardio for 300-400 cals 3-4 times a week, and watch the fat slowly come off. Shoot for 1.5-2 lbs a week at first, and slowly taper it off to 1lb a week as you get closer to the 12-15% bodyfat range, to maintain muscle mass. If you have to take a few weeks to eat at maintenance, that's ok too. The main thing is not to lose any muscle.
I think calling your work "poor progress" is unjustified. Just put more work into it. Abs are made in the kitchen, but looking good naked comes from the gym. Good luck my friend, keep it up.

If you mainly eat meat and veggies, take a look at the keto forums. Keto is a very muscle sparing diet, and its great for cutting. If you keep your diet in check, the weight comes off slowly and steadily. Take some time and look around in there, much info to be had. It's basically 65% fats, 30% proteins, and 5% carbs.
Cardio and weights together do not defeat the point of trying to gain mass. I would always do both, whether cutting or bulking. You do however, change the intensity and duration of each, along with your diet, when cutting and bulking. When cutting I do cardio every day, when bulking 2-3 times a week. Weights I lift per body part per day when cutting, and when bulking I stick with heavy compound lifts 3 times a week, and do some weak point training on certain body parts on other days.
Just continue to keep working, learn more about diet and nutrition. I think if you went on a good solid 12 week cut, lifted heavy and ate right you could probably drop 20-25 lbs of fat. Then re-evaluate and see where you want to go.

i dont think its a case of you not eating enough lol, i think its a case of you not training hard enough or keeping up a consistency... GO HARD MAN, you need to loose some pudge. come back in 4 months with new pics but make sure you go to the gym at least 4 times a week every week.
