Well, there's only one guy I've ever seen at the gym I go to who wears those things, and he is about as "fruity" as they come.
I mean, I have to turn away to keep from laughing out loud sometimes.

There's an article in this month's Mens Journal that references a study from the International Journal of Sports Medicine saying that runners who wore compression shorts had better circulation, and expended less energy. Also, is says that they keep muscles warmer and looser, allowing them to be more efficient.

I always wear compression shorts when I run. Haven't run without them, so I can't say anything opposite this.

I'd say wear them. As long as you have a home gym. Personally, I think they look gay. I had a pair back in the day. Early 90's. I shudder to think I wore them out in public. It's like bringing back parachute pants.

Hehe...I had a pair of those.
A lime green, double knit, polyester bell bottom suit also. I wonder if I can still fit in that thing? Back in style, innit?

Wear what you want. Who cares if others think you're gay or not?
It's not like you post on a forum dedicated to building and showing off oiled, pumped-up male and female figures wearing almost nothing, is it?

If you are worried about whether or not your shorts are too gay then you are probably worried about the wrong thing

This looks much too involved for my simple mind. I guess I'll stick to my knee-length gym shorts.

If you don't care what other people think, go for broke and wear something like this (tron costume guy):
http://zoice.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/tronguy.jpg
I posted a link rather than an img tag out of consideration for others. View at your own risk (it's not vulgar or obscene, just weird).

Couldn't agree more with this post!
Jeez, what is WRONG with people today? Who gives a rat's behind what other people think? If other people have a hangup about things, that's their problem!
Everytime I hear this dumb argument about "gay", I always think about what Sandra Bernhard said when someone asked her if she was gay/lesbian "I feel that the people that are concerned with my sexuality probably just want to have sex with me......"
So, people leave well enough alone! And OP, wear whatever, whenever you want...as long as it is not illegal, who cares?

I have always worn cotton spandex shorts in the gym, riding my bike. I could care less what people think. I attract attention just because I have long hair. I don't walk the earth looking for approval. Do what ever you want, In the gym the only thing you compete with is time

as long as they are not pink... or as long as you do not take them off in the gym...
on ecan be gay with those on or even with a pair of regular shorts on, gayness is not in what you wear!
for god's sake, why care? if you want to wear them just do it, don't care about what people say or think. Just do as you please.

I suppose I'd wear them if I were going to be doing a lot walking. Chafing sucks. And I'm not sure that I'd wear something over them if it were really hot out.

Sorry, but when you come out of that second spin and set into power position it's a little uncomfortable if little Elvis and the back up band are still shakin.
