"6wks Before It Drops"
I have to say some people love being pregnant, I have hated it all the way! Its either a love/hate thing I believe.
I currently have a due date of 9-29-09. I am hoping to keep a journal of my struggles and journey post baby. I am currently weighing in at an outstanding "203lbs". A big difference from my stage pictures. On stage I am aprox. 125-130lbs at about 7-8% body fat. I was sick alot during my pregnancy and just couldn't stomache my regular diet. Off season I would have to say my weight is aprox. 140lbs around 10% bf. Right now I still get to the gym and lift 3-4 x per week. Cardio is now walking 30 minutes 2-3x per week. The baby is always on my bladder which makes me pee every 7 min aprox when I am doing cardio. I have to say AWESOME!! to that.
So my plan moving forward is to drop the load, with 12 weeks off from work and lose some weight and become me again. This is my journey to competition again. My goal is to compete again in fall of 2010.
During my spare time I started my tanning company which caters to spray tanning shows in the North KC, area. In addition, I have contacted Chad Nichols Chairman of the NPC for KS, MO, and Arkansas and will be doing some test judging here in 2010.
But beware, I suck at posting and daily log entry's.

Baby
The baby is finally here and I am now 2wks post partum. The training finally begins.
I am currently nursing, the plan is to keep at aprox 1800 -2100 calories with my exercise regimen and strict diet. The key is the strict diet, that will be the hardest part.
I am looking at losing aprox 2lbs a week to keep up my milk supply, and leaning up by swapping fat for muscle.
Today I attempt going to the gym and doing my weight training. In addition to cardio at 30 min on the treadmill. I am not sure if I will be able to run or not today.
Wish me luck

Beautiful! Congrats.
Boy or girl? (Sorry, but it's so hard to tell at that age, and the picture is in black and white - no pink or blue to clue me in.)
How are you feeling? I loved hitting the gym after I had Cadillac. Everything just felt so good. But, I didn't really drop the weight until I quit nursing. I lost quite a bit, but not that last 10 pounds. After nursing is was so easy though. Best metabolism of my entire life!

It's a boy, his name is Reece. I guess I left that part out.
I'm feeling ready to go, and hit the weights. However, the Dr. told me I have to wait another two weeks. I guess my uterus can pro lapse, and then there would be major surgeory. So, its cardio for another two weeks.
I heard some people don't lose while they are nursing and some do. Even, if I get down to the last 10lbs I will be happy or close to.
I heard Julie Lohre breast fed back stage when she was competing. My friend saw her. I can only pray for that type of help getting lean while nursing and competing.
Didn't you train with Julie?

Your soo sweet Joan, I need your secret. You are super lean there girl. You are my inspiration. To stay soo lean year round.
What do you normally stay at? (If you don't mind me asking) You always look great. Mine off season is aprox. 10-12% bf. Which is about 10lbs over comp. weight. Maybe that is my problem????? That's why I haven't hit a win overall yet.

Thank you, I glad I am finally done. Some people love being pregnant and some people hate it. Did I tell you I actually hated every minute of being pregnant? I probably mentioned it already Although I have to say I love the little package that came out from all of it. So worth it.

Hey Tina!! OMG!!! A baby!!! Wowie. So happy for you. He is adorable.
I hated being pregnant too. I was soooo sick! Ugh. And tired. But what a great trade off
Just focus on being healthy right now and the rest will follow. Reece will only be so very small and "easy" for a very short time....the stage will always be there
You already have the best trophy out there...a beautiful healthy baby
So happy for you!!

Hey girl, yep, the 1st time around I hated it from the beginning to the end, although I didn't even feel sick, just hated the weight gain. However, after my little one was born I regreted that I didn't take time to enjoy it.... I wouldn't say that I am really enjoying it this time around, but I think that I am more relaxed. However, I am feeling much sicker with this one and absolutely no energy.... Did you workout during pregnancy?

I did cardio 3x per wk, and stopped running after 8 months and walked until 9mo. on the treadmill. I continued to lift at aprox. 80% my max weight and stopped aprox 9months. I was so uncomfortable those last 4wks. I couldn't even stay on the treadmill walking after 3min I kept having to go pee, so frusturating.
I struggled with staying on my diet. I was sick to my stomach all the time. I couldn't even eat chicken, turkey, fish etc... everything I had always been eating I couldn't take it.
One good thing is it gave me a much needed break from competition and mentally only to come back stronger and better the next time.
I just started cardio this week, the Dr stated not to start weights for two more weeks I am aprox 2 wks postpartum. so no weights till 4wks. blah!
Cardio for this week is:
Mond- 30 sec running 5.0/ 30 sec walking 3.0 (30min am)
Tues- 30 sec running 5.0/ 30 sec walking 3.0 (30min am)
Wed- 1min running 5.0/1min walking 3.0 (30min am)
Thurs- no cardio

Heh! No secret, really....It's mostly Diet.
Any amount of weight training and cardio, is useless without proper diet.
Lift heavy.
Eat Right.
I have no idea what my bf% is....I never knew nor will I know.
I go by what I see in the mirror and how my clothes fit.
My last comp I weighed in a 93lbs....I am now 104lbs.... 1year and 6mos ago.
If you are thinking that you fail to place at your goal-placing, because of your bf% then perhaps next time, you could sart contest prepping earlier (ex: instead of at 8weeks out go 12 weeks...ect)

Yeah, diet is key. That is a thought or just stay on the DIET!! I sometimes over think things and then put some add on's in there. I'll have to just stay consistent, with everything *exercise, diet*. I'll try dieting out longer to get leaner for contest prep.
FYI, I know you've heard this time and time again. You always look great!! Your will power is incredible.

Weigh in 186.6 lbs
I weighed in one day early. I will still check on Saturday just for the hell of it.
I started the gym this week. I feel good, but alot weaker now. Good thing there is muscle memory
I'm feeling good just always need to remind myself consistency, and persistance is the key.

184.8lbs weigh in
Things are going good. I did cave on Halloween and have 4 of those small candy bars. I have to remember I am not on a contest diet and not to be sooo manic about things.
Other than that my mood is up, and have been feeling good. Strength is coming up a little.
