Thanks for the encouragement about my recent pictures. It's a major motivation for me to get your feedback.

I got back from vacation too late to get in my vote, but it looks like you did it without me. So what's next? I didn't see how they would get it down to just one. How did the photo shoot in California go?

With that said, my A1c test came back today @ 5.6

Only asking what he did. I think the Palumbo diet was talking about LISS. I'm not sure I could even do LISS Too drawn out and boring for me. I really enjoy the intervals. Even though they can be tough they keep me interested. I think in the last 8 months or so I've done about 3 maybe 4 sessions of moderate intensity cardio for about 30 mins. That was as long as I could take my boredom level, lol.

This is kewl. Getting opinions and perspectives from others from this thread! Nice to get feedback from people I respect.

Posted up a few progress pics taken today. Been trying to bring up my weak points, mainly lats and legs. Improving my delts too. Getting closer to one of my goals, to have 16 inch arms! About half an inch to go!

Currently on a seefood diet. See food, eat food! Trying to give my body everything it needs for this bulking phase. Diet practice in a couple of months!

Looks like you've been putting on some lean mass! Great job. So you going to do a cut around January then? Thinking about doing another contest around that time? Maybe a show next year? Congrats on almost making your arm size goal as well. Seems a lot of people are still doing great things. That brings a big smile to my face.

Thanks, Mykel! I plan on going to the Oregon Ironman as an observer, it would be cool to see you up on stage! I would like to do that show someday, too. I will set 2011 as a goal to shoot for.

Keep on hittin' it hard!

You're quite welcome. I definitely want to be ready by May. I'm still making progress. Slower, but doing it. Preserving the muscle I have for now until I get to where I have to push even harder. Plus trying to keep a handle on any loose skin since I started to big! Though I'm thinking of doing a really hard push again pretty soon. To see how long it takes me to accomplish things. Kind of a trial run thing

Don't let yourself get too much body fat. I found that the stretched skin was hard to get tightened up again--probably an old-age thing to which you are not entirely immune, young man.

diet alone takes most of the fat off, cardio is just that little extra push to help it along. I follow bodybuilding cut styles. look at anyyy pro actually take the whole top 10 at this yrs olympia and check out their training... atleast 9 if not all 10 did 60 to 90 minutes of cardio a day. mostly incline walking, slowwww stair step, or efx on a 4 pace (which is almost a walk) find me one that said he did alot of hiit.... long distance runners train more like hiit then my style runners and hiit both go balls out my cardio never does more fucused on the food. Just my opinion.... hit is good for losing fat and probably better for women then men.. it should be used for short term to get past a hump or for people trying to lose weight and dont care about muscle mass......

Just my opinion.... hit is good for losing fat and probably better for women then men.. it should be used for short term to get past a hump or for people trying to lose weight and dont care about muscle mass......
Most pro bodybuilders couldn't do hiit. They are too big and cumbersome. Some of them look like they have trouble just walking on the treadmill, so anything more intense is out of question for alot of those guys. I remember watching kevin levrone "race" somebody. It was almost embarrassing and his 40 yard time was something like 5.6 seconds. I think pro's are also worried about recovering from hiit because it's soooo taxing on the legs.

Distance runners perform really nothing close to HIIT in my opinion, and I've worked with or been on the same team with quite a few world class distance athletes. Early in the season is just about getting miles in. Alot of the 10 k guys will do two hours in the morning and an hour in the evening and log upwards of 90 miles each week. Then when the season come around they are doing things like 30 400m sprints at race pace, which doesn't really qualify as HIIT because it's submaximal. If they were doing it at max like HIIT should be performed, they would probably only last 45-55 seconds, just like the top 400m runners really only last around 40 seconds, and that is really running at submax too. Alot of the distance runners are putting in 2-3 minute intervals, which in my opinion doesn't qualify as HIIT.

Now a 200 meter runner running performing track work for 15-30 seconds; that is HIIT as I percieve it. 15-40 seconds balls to the wall!

And by the way (once again no disrespect intended) none of us a pro bodybuilders so why would we want to try and emulate their training without emulating their drug intake? Thank god pro bodybuilders don't deny drug use. Every other sport does and it makes me sick.
What a long drawn out post. It think it's my record. Any other thoughts?
And by the way I use slooooow cardio too during my morning cardio session during my cutting phases with a heart rate around 120

I'm leaner right now 5 weeks out than I was 3 weeks out last time, and my diet is pretty much the same.

This is what I think is best overall. Too much HIIT too often is hard on the body. It took me about 6 weeks to feel somewhat normal after the contest from all the HIIT. My body was beat up for sure. I prefer LISS, but if I need to change fast it's HIIT all the way especially if I don't have alot of time.

Nope.

They never got ahold of me. Sucks because the weekend after I get back from
Cali there is a show in Denver -- I'd be totally ripped for it but can't do it financially.
What a crock huh.. I've done the work; it's too bad money is the reason.

Damn Hollywood your looking great! Your gonna have to really work on the arms to catch up with those massive shoulders! Your upper shoulders and delts are really stealing the show in those back shots......great back!

On the HIIT issue, I did both....LISS in the morning, and HIIT at night! Nothing works like HIIT....except you will lose mass in the legs!

Everyone looks great.........TMAN....you are cracking me up with those Calvin undy pics!

Just a side note, I went out with Heather May French ( 3rd at Olympia ), and Listi Allen ( 1st at the USA's ), this weekend.......holy **** that makes you want to work out! They look incredible!

I've been training hard and plan to compete in my first show this year.....and win! I am around 220 right now with 5 % BF abs showing. Its taken a long time to gain the lean mass, but I think I'm ready! I will be in the over 40 Masters division!

Hope everyone is training hard and living well!

I have some side by sides from a month ago on my bodyspace progress. Not heavier for me of course, lighter.

I didn't have trouble losing extra mass on my legs personally, but I could see where it might do that to some.

Great job with the lean mass, bro! I wish you the best of luck in doing a show! When you doing and which one is it? Hope you kick some serious butt!
