I Just found out I am extremely intolerant to OATS, wheat, barly, rye and gluten :(
I have had problems with my digestion (last 3 years), especially in the last year. always had a bloated stomach and never knew why. I went to my doctor who told me it was just stress, and he said i should avoid milk. So I did that for 6 months and it never helped at all.
So I went to a professor chick, who sent me for these special food intolerance tests, and it came out that I am highly intolerant to OATS, wheat, barly, rye and gluten. I have eaten oats everyday for the last 2 years! No wonder my stomach has been f****. And it really sucks because i absolutely love my oats in the morning
oh well. It seems I just have to greatly alter my lifestyle.
Does anyone have any suggestions of what i can eat for breakfast? I have to stay away from cereals and OATS

you have a gluten allergy.
You can buy gluten free oats and other wheat products.

They say typically if you're allergic to something you're drawn to it (oats every morning). I had similar allergies and after I changed my diet, I felt 100% better. It makes all the difference in the world trust me.

I haven't had any grain in the last 6 months it is entirely doable. Breakfast for me usually consists of Eggs, Sausage/Bacon and Peppers.

I myself am having stomach issues of my own...got tested for celiac disease = negative :-) but still don't know what's wrong. Feelings of bloating, cramping, and I'm sure you can think of other symptoms. I undergo testing at digestive disorders soon....I'm not sure how to narrow my food choices down because its after a lot of different foods.

alot of stomach problems are from low stomach acid. digestive bitters stimulate the vagus nerve which stimulates the release of gastric juices, pancreatic enzymes, bile and so on for better digestion whilst cleansing the liver.
allergies can be from weak adrenals. Im allergic to all of them also aswell as egg so i use gluten free porridge which is buckwheat and millet i think or rice.
theirs quinoa porridge also which isnt as nice but healthly.

Get the book The Paleo Diet and The Paleo Diet for Athletes, they will both explain your conditions and provide recipes for you to eat with. It is the lectins in those foods that cause your problems.
I'm wondering if she tested you for beans and legumes like peanuts as well.

I think you should be happy that you found out whats causing the trouble.
Every now and then I have digestive disorders which seem to go away most of the time I eat digestive enzymes. I think I must figure out whether I am allergic to something.

If you have celiac, take it seriously. My wife has it and almost every physical ailment (acne, digestive, fatigue) she's had is gone but you have to be careful with reading labels, even on skin products/soaps/shampoos and as robinsteal mentioned, things like envelopes.
There's a really helpful forum at celiac.com and great books out there as well.
My wife found this book paricularly helpful: http://bit.ly/g3YH0

I'd suggest your wife try the Paleo diet, since it eliminates acne and doesn't contain any gluten.
The diet has been used in a peer reviewed controlled study in which it reduced acne in a short time, in Australia. For me, I used to have acne so bad that it was even resistant to Accutane. After about 30 days on the diet (the time it takes new skin cells to reach the surface) my acne began disappearing and never came back again. I did no special washing or soaps, creams, etc. In fact now I hardly bother washing my face at all, just to get gunk out of my eyes, and I get NO new acne.

We basically just steer clear of gluten. Those things I mentioned AREN'T an issue anymore now that she knows what was causing it (gluten-laden foods/products).

I hate to piss in your cornflakes as the case may be but since I'm also gluten intolerant ( celiac) you will find out that almost all cereals have barley malt in them, to include cornflakes, you have to buy certified gluten free.
Not to even mention the cross contamination that happens in the grain processing plants.
It is going to be hard on you the first year or so relearning how to eat but trust me you will feel much better.
Just read every label of everything, even spices often times have flour added to them and things like preshredded cheese etc.

Its not just celiac disease, there are people who are gluten intolerant with the disease and there are non- celiac gluten intolerant people.
I am always bloated and i get pretty bad gas and i feel it especially eating my cereal in the morning, right now im pretty self diagnosed and i cant figure out whether is would be a gluten intolerance or a wheat allergy so i suppose i will have to go to doctor
