Question hot water and lemon

i keep hearing that this is good to drink first thing upon waking.
does anyone do it and what are its benefits?

Yes, I drink hot water with lemon and with a little bit of grated fresh ginger, pinch of cayenne pepper and cinammon first thing in the morning. It meant to flush your liver and fire up metabolism.

oh and also when i do it, i have my water at slightly higher or same as body temp (too hot or too cold water will shock ur body first thing in the morning) and i squeeze about a tsp of lemon into it (if u microwave your lemon half for 10secs i will yield more juice). Its also supposed to rev up your metabolism. I usually drink it 20mins before breakfast, mornings in my house is hectic, so its nice to get a morning boost before everyone else wakes up.

I do this too. Sometimes I just do plain hot water. Wakes me up.
