Jesus can't people just say "Great lift" instead of saying how the OP should be deading and squatting more?
lol it happens in bench press threads, but never in a squat/deadlift thread do you see someone start talking about how they should bench more *shrugs*
I dont have chicken legs and im happy with the weight I can do. I dont train legs as hard as my chest, and I dont want huge quads. people can hate on that or not, I could honestly care less.

i dont deadleft. havent maxed on squats. Usually finish at 315 on my sets. Let press is 8 plates for a set of 5.
Ill admit iv been a upper body only for almost the entire time. I only started doing legs within the last year or so.
That's pretty terrible. I usually dont give someone props unless they squat and deadlift too. But good job on the bench, you are one strong motherfuker.
job good man dave! Hella strong, keep I up. You think 500 will rear it's ugly head by the end of next year?
thanks bro. and no way. Im hoping to hit 500 before im 30. But I doubt I could add that much on my bench in a year. specially since school is going to get alot harder.
Im hoping for 455 in another year or so.

I've been lifting for ~20 years and I've NEVER seen anyone use a bitch pad while benching...lol
Is it really that hard to say Congrats? That goes for others as well. This is not a squat thread, no clean and jerks, no DL's. Easy to say chicken legs there too you's. But lets see your 405 bench?
Anyway, OP damn impressive! That is my goal now as well. I've never really trained for it at all. No partner in the gym, doing the same weights over and over has held me back. But as of a month now, I found a guy to work out with. So I can do 275 x 10 no problems, then I did 315 x 3, 3 times in less then 2 mins ( so 9 reps in 2 mins ). So just getting a feel for it. Most I've ever done was 375lbs. So it's nice to have a spotter now, lol. But big congrats to you son

btw, I just sent the last 40 mins or so watching this show. This is something you'd fit into. You can perform the weight you do not based on your size. But your training and conditioning both your mind and your body. This is a great watch of power and lifting.

good triceps and rear delt along with strong upper back will help ur benching,
i been benching 405lbs for 6 years now, its hard to go to 500lbs without adding more mass to ur frame to support that weight, eventually tendon and muscle tears will happen. i just load up on calories n carbs and alot of rest n sleep before maxing out.
op. out of 15 years of workingout, i find the best time to max out is half way thru ur workout doing back, then do 45 degree angle push ups, like ur doing push up on ur vanity bathroom. then bench 135lbs for liek 30 reps, depending how easy u can do them, then pound ur way up fast. If u feel a slight tingle or burn in ur delt, u better stop, or u will end up like me, partly tear a tendon and pec... because i do all the way down to my chest.

your form in the first video was horrible. But you've cleaned it up over time and you actually went all the way down to your chest. gjdm.
I know. I corrected it awhile ago. Just posted that video to show the difference.

Thanks bro. Ill check those videos tonight after the gym.
Oh man, it sucks training without a partner. That fear of dropping it on your neck when trying for that last rep. couldnt do it.
You do your sets at heavy weight pretty quick.

I'm just wondering.... what happened to that tattoo on your right shoulder in your avitar pic? It's not in the video. Look at the vid at 22 seconds. No tat on right shoulder. Frauding?
LMAO, there's this thing called a mirror... unless his camera somehow takes a pic of what's behind it...
OP, killer job!

interesting. during back workout? I usually do it halfway through my flat bench, or towards the end.

I got the Cliff bars in today OP, My heaviest set was 355 one clean rep THEY MUST WORK. Lol but seriously I got 355 up cleanly and I am trying to adjust my form to a more Power Lifting style in the Dave Tate video.
How long it take you to jump up from my weight 355 to 405, I felt alot better today and feel like its feasible to get 4 plates in 6-8 months. Obviously Im on a perma bulk diet too. Im guessing I'll be weighing around 200+ by the time I can get the weight up lil over 190 now.

haha. how do you like the taste? pretty good huh?
Well the date in the 1st video was april of 08. So it took almost a year and a half.
I was at 385 clean (395 sloppy) in jan of 09 and i just now hit 405.
Looking back on that 1st video, I should have never even kept it, but its good to see for myself how much iv changed my form since then.

Really good I got PEANUT BUTTER, I go to a new gym after work and I needed something for pre-workout to eat. The new gym I go to is really focused on Olympic lifts etc. I think I am putting myself in a good environment to break the 400lb mark this yr.
Yeah form is everything, I practiced with 315 today with the new form and I felt really strong. I didnt need lift off either for 355 and no tilting side to to side coming up.

sweet deal. glad you like them. i havent tried the peanut butter yet. the chocolate ones taste too good to change lol
kick ass. you using a spotter? thats crazy you didnt need a lift off on your max.
I have a hard time lifting off by myself when i have my shoulder blades locked in place.

i agree. but ive got arms like a t rex.
OP very well done. i hit 355 last spring @178, then had some injuries, then cut to 158 for summer. im sitting at 166 now but couldnt come close to what i used to be capable of. so yea, im kinda jealous right now. props!

Well my spotter stands behind the bar but he doesn't have his hands out, for some reason when I get lift off it throws off my alignment. I think I get a placebo effect when I know I have someone just there in case of incident.
Im still tweaking form, I dont think Im a 100% there yet but I feel much more comfortable as weeks go by.
