It's too much work. Taking pics, uploading, dealing with morons and questions...
So I took my first tennis class last night and rocked it. Then I went out and played for another hour to practice some more. I have been playing for 2 summers now, but had no technique really. Today, bum, hips, back and arms are dead tired, and I have an ugly blister crust in the palm of my right hand... real lady-like. Then again, it sure beats the corn I'd get from lifting...
Tonight, I'm going to the International Tango Fest downtown. I'd like to take a class but got no one who is daring enough
In 2 weeks, I am starting my latin dance classes as well.
Combine that to my Spanish lessons, my running schedule and doggie training, I've got a pretty busy summer ahead of me. At least, it'll keep me moving (well, maybe not the Spanish lesson but that all depends on the instructor I guess... ).
(I'm on a natural high this morning, enjoy it, it may not last very long.)

Well Jesus woman, send your unwanted stuff to me! I am not too proud to take hand me downs
Well look at you! I have been saying all summer that I want to start playing tennis. I just havent yet It looks like fun, and a great WO. Ya if you are sick of the gym, then finding other ways to stay active is such a great idea. Dance classes too? Sweet. Ya I would be one of those chickens that wouldn't do that. Not very cooridinated. Although after some whiskey I do believe I am Brittney Spears on the dance floor.
How is the doggy training going? I want to see more pics of her!

Here Jen, just for you. My punk dog
I don't have super recent pics but she's grown pretty big over the past 3 months. Yet, she's still fairly small compared to her parents. I hope she keeps growing some more, but at 7 1/2 months and having been operated, I'm not sure she has much more to grow.
Recently took a trip on a farm and we went hiking. I have pics, but they're too big to upload here.

oh yes, I`ve shrinked them.
Here are a few pics of the doggie in the (pseudo)wild... afraid of every animal on the farm, and a pic of our beautiful white goat and a porcupine.

ha! That's easy. Dogs are a lot more fun than most people.
I wanted a 2nd one, but bf's not too keen on it. although he did mention that he had said no the first time around and I got one anyway so I will most likely to as please anyway. But I'll try to be nice for a while.

I need help. I've lost my motivation completely.
One morning, I get up and go run, thinking I'm back in the game. The next 2 weeks I sit on my butt and restrict my calories to make up for the lack of training.
I've gone soft and I hate it. I need to find my drive back.
Help!! I need to hear something I haven't heard before to get my blood flowing and my heart pumping.

okay so never mind; I didn't need your help afterall
Went out for a run after dinner. I felt like it. Simply.
My time sucks though; shows that I've been lazy and underfed lately, not considering that I used to run in the a.m. - when the air is most and has not yet filled with car pollution.
Did 3.5K in 14 minutes I didn't stop the clock while the dog pooped though, but still. It's not like she takes an hour...

I have three and find they keep each other occupied...mostly!

I figured I'll get another one sooner or later anyway. I'll feel less guilty if I don't feel like taking them out on a run. They can at least entertain themselves.

ha! I was thinking about you the other day. I looked at my arms and noticed that after 1.5 years out of the gym (except for those 2 months I worked with Emma in the spring but that was for reasons other than bulking), I have completely lost all my biceps.
I have nothing left at all. I swear.
And while I don't really care, it's sad a bit. I lost my arms
Oh well. I don't feel as bad about my biceps as I do my ass though. Biceps are easy to shape... for me anyway. My ass... that's another story.
But I had a good week so far. 3 runs, 1 kickass weight session, 1 tennis and 3 bike rides. And we're only Thursday morning
I've noticed that I'm building endurance on my runs. Every time I go, I go farther, faster. So I'm not back up to where I used to be 2-3 years ago yet - far from it - but I managed about 6.3/k in my last run. It's not THAT bad.
HR sucks though. went up to 172 on that run. And it's still not easy to bring it down. But at least, there's progress and I'm happy.
Diet is still a big failure. But I've upped my protein from what I used to eat over the past few months. I still can't get back to my egg whites and oats habit though - I've grown to love my croissants and wine too much. The best I can do these days is make a delicious smoothie out of yogurt, flax, protein powder and bananas. yummy

So been keeping up with the runs every now and then. Averaging about 10K/week or so, with a few tennis games and puppy bike rides here and there.
Finally made it back to the gym today, after an absence of nearly 3 months if I'm not mistaken.
Went on my lunch break - which is a concept that is entirely new to me. But it was alright. I might just do that again sometime...
My wo was improv-ed with supersets:
Smith squats / good-mornings
Leg extensions / Leg curls
WG lat pulls / Seated rows
Inclined press / flyes
Upright rows / Reverse curls
Lat/rear/front flyes / Bench dips
+ 15-20 minutes of inclined treadmill while watching the last 24 hours of Anna Nicole Smith's life I was going for 30 minutes but it bore me and I lost all my energy bitching her out in my head.
Took a stroll over to the supplements store, got some tasty Oh Yeah! bars and some fish oil, and came back to work, anticipating a major hunger bout in a few.
'tis it.

Thanks for the vote of confidence there Barb!
Seriously, life's been kind to me lately so I've been enjoying a pretty normal (read: sane) life for a few weeks.
I don't want to jinx it though, since PMS is right around the corner...
But so far so good.
and FYI, a puppy bike ride is a bike ride with the dog running alongside me. She's a MAJOR sprinter so she loves bike rides and is quite good at it. She follows my lead very well and (hardly) ever cuts me off. Last time we went, we did 3+ hours. She's amazing; she never tires out.

Glad to hear things are going well Mel
Wow 3 hours?! That is pretty good for the little pup. My moms cocker got kinda chubby, even though he goes for walks twice a day. then I realized she was giving him like 1/4 cup of PB everynight! So now its down to 1 tbsp

That's a great idea to get both of you some exercise. I'm also amazed that the pup lasts 3 hours jogging.

30 min. spinning
25 min. uphill tread
5 min. (might have even been less) stairmaster-crap. I hate that machine, not sure why I keep getting on it, but it calls my name every time I'm on the treadmill.
In short, 1 hour of cardio.
No lifting on Wednesdays; that's the new rule.
Today, lifting for 40-45 minutes or so. Full-body improv.
Nothing else to report.
My head's already left for Spain.

I think I may have injured my knee on the bike at the gym.
Not sure how this could have happened, but last night I woke up in pain. Both my knees were in agony! the right one I expected somewhat since I had started to feel it earlier in the day but both?!?! And it's not like I've been using that bike for months, it's only twice this week.
I don't get it.

2.5k run - 14 minutes.
bah
Laziness should be reckoned a virtue. Not many people can achieve such high levels of lethargy.

from what i can remember the greasy spanish stuff plain needs to be washed down with red wine
and i especially love how the folks stand at corner cafes and leave paper towelettes and other rubbish on the floor.
go to portugal and try some excellent vinho verde and cabbage soup (yes!), tarte de amandoas and broa if you're on that side of the world.

yeah ok i'm pathetic
you need a saviour
i need a saviour.
so perhaps stop getting drunk on the costa patatata and start getting smashed in the southern hemisphere.
OK?
we all need an outlet from insanity from madness from stupid decisions. being human is clumsy, odd, scary, weird, left-out. but you don't have to do it all alone.

urgh I know.
Although I must say this is not even close to the grossness of French squat toilets. A hole in the ground and 2 steps to put your feet on is not really my idea of a good night out. Especially when you are 5'3" and that stepping on the steps as directed doesn't align you with the hole...
You get the picture.
But then again, after 2-3 liters of wine, it just doesn't matter anymore. So yeah, I did it. Once. And I have been traumatized ever since.
I'm a princess. I need my marble floors and counters. So sue me.

And we shall save each other?
I told you, I think we'd kill each other first. Or end up committing the most lyrical joint suicide ever known to men.
Forget Romeo and Juliette;
Forget Sid and Nancy;
Forget ...
ah whatever.
I'm back at work this morning, and it doesn't seem as thrilling anymore.
Must be the jetlag.

You mean we can be stupid, clumsy, odd, scary, weird and left-out... together?
