I notice a similar effect and do basically the same thing. I just don't do the sodium load but I do the deplete along with low carbs from the wed - fri night.

Interesting. Tommy has me messing with sodium this time around too.....I was just curious as to what your protocol was. Last year I didnt mess with it, but I dont think I was lean enough for it to make a difference anyways.

Yea,..Tommy made some good points in my prep thread for my April comp which helped me confirm what my prep coach was doing for me.

Gotta say I got exactly the OTHER thing happening right at the moment
On contest w/end last at home I was around the 77.5kg - weigh low on my scales - probably 80kg but lets use the standard.
Had two hard days and was both carb and water depleted.
On Sunday night had a big refeed and as well on Moday night had a smallish refeed. Since then nothing but the egg whites (7x2) and 170g (4x) chicken. Plus w/outs and cardio...
....and this AM - I am 81.2kg on my home scales. Does play with my head!!!
Your'e doing great kiddo - prize is there - in sight - in reach - grab the mofo!

I expect your peak to be a bit different from mine,....Last NPC comp I hit the scale at 165lbs.,....I'm about at the same place,..weight wise now,..one difference is, I'm going to start carb up the eve. before,..Fri. night. Be interesting to see how that affects my water consumption and fullness.
Excited,..well,..sorta. I look at this show as just a fun event. It is so massive and with the vendors and IFBB pro Victor Martinez,..it's alot of glitz and glam! Doing exceptionally well,..well thats just icing on the cake!
The big show will be the Olympus! been training hard for that pro card!

So, you dont carb up until the night before?? What was all the weight you gained a few days ago from? Just the water? Thats weird.....when I start guzzling I lose weight.
Well, im rooting that you do well at the NPC.......good luck. Now, at the Olympus, im rooting for you in the Masters class!

Yeah, but even as PALE as you are, I've amazed at how much more detailed your entire lower half has become. When you can see glutes coming in with horrible lighting and pale white skin, you are READY!
Best of luck to both of you guys!

Tomorrow is de Big day Fo Me!!!
NPC Ohio!
morning weight,..167lbs!
Going to be interesting to see what I weigh in at tomorrow. Whatever it is,..I don't care much. It looks like it could go either way tho,..again!
Last comp I was 165lbs. This put me in the lightweight masters and welterweight Open class. I won both classes.
If I tip the scale over 165lbs. This will put me in Masters Heavy and middle Open.
Last year the guy that won the Masters heavy was 167lbs. and I beat him out for the Masters overall. I guess this goes to show ya,..it just doesn't really matter what weight class you go in,..the judging is based on what ya bring.

Phew,..that was a close one!!!
Almost had to call off the whole competition schedule!!
Wife and I were shopping for some carb up items at the store last night. Wife gets a text from our daughter(Chloe) gymnastics coach,..reads,..come to gym,..Chloe injured,...landed on neck!
Needless to say the O Sh!T factor kicked in,..heart pumping out of my chest,..slight tear from both of us while darting out of the store and driving the longest 2 minute drive to her gym! We sprint up the stairs and the coache catches us and explains it is a minor injurty and she will be fine after a bit of ice. We look at Chloe,..she gives us that,.Hey,..I'm a tuff girl Look,..and rubs her neck and says,..lets go home. Relief kicks in as we get back home and conduct some basic movement postions with her neck and head. All is well this morning,..a little stiff but she is back to her old self!
I know she is in a sport that she loves and injury is probable,..this isn't the first, and won't be the last,..just as long as we pray they will never be too serious!
How bout that for a little scare! Kids,..so precious! God Bless yours!
