What does it for you?
I am curious to know...
How do YOU stay motivated? More importantly how do you stay disciplined w/diet & exercise?? What do you do to keep it from becoming boring and routine?
I get on a good streak and then just blow it. I will eat clean, bust my booty at the gym for a solid week or two. I even see results and then I make it all go to crap. I guess you can say I get scared. Does that make sense?

I know I've only been following a clean diet and working out since June, but I am no longer having much trouble with cravings for junk and whatnot anymore. What keeps me motivated is the way i feel. It would be so much harder if I were constantly looking for big muscles (my goal :P), since the process takes so much time. The quickest (and arguably the best) gain for me was becoming a calmer person. I suffered from panic disorder for a number of years, which disabled me from living a normal life at many points, but what came with this lifestyle change is a really good energetic, yet calm energy rather than a nervous one. I don't really pay a whole lot of attention to the taste of food anymore, but rather, the feelings I get from them. Brown rice and spinach used to taste terribly dull to me, but now they are my favorite foods because they make me feel so good.
I suppose I'm just trying to remind you that the aesthetics of your body are not the only rewards you get from this lifestyle, but it feels great too.

Setting my alarm at 4am and getting my butt to the gym for a good workout. I've been doing this since Feb and have seen great success in the way my body has changed. I am also now starting to get compliments from customers that makes me want to push even harder.
Hard work and dedication "does" pay off
I also gave up CL and don't have the sugar cravings. They say" You are what you eat" and I do believe that!!

I can totally relate to that. I have anxiety and when I get up to walk or jog I actually breathe.

What does it for me?
My ego is huge! So working out helps feed it, and keeps me in check.

I stay naturally motivated for the majority of the month. Reading fitness magazines or reading inspirational quotes help too. However, (TMI ALERT) about a week or so before my period I have a decrease in energy and start craving more food. I suffer through those work outs, but after that time of the month is over my appetite returns to normal, and I get right back on track.

I put myself some targets (like the amount of weights I want to lift). I know if I dont reach my targets I feel bad, so it gets me moving. Also doing other activities helps a lot. Like today I do not feel like doing any cardio (from weights I need a day-off), so I called up a friend to play some squash. Some like joining various classes. Checking motivational articles, videos etc... also pushes me. Sometimes I like to go to other branches of my gym chain, different machines, different location, etc...
