ACE PT material. chapter 2 KILLING me.
having a tough time making it through chapter 2, theres just so much terminology and latin/greek to deal with.
will i need to know every bit of this to test?
are there parts i should focus on more than others?
any tips to get through it?
i got intimidated after flipping through the first 3 or 4 chapters and actually walked away from the book for almost a month. Got a prescription to adderall and got back to the book, looked past the first 4 chapters and realized the rest of the book will be a cake walk once making it through these-- but man this is making my head hurt.
ive realized i am highlighting about 90% of the information haha.
whats up ACE guys, any help?

Make note cards. It's all about repetition. Once you have terminology down, try to write the pathways and explain whatever you're studying. I'm assuming you're talking about anatomy and the energy pathways, muscular contraction, etc. but I did not take the ACE.

I always study hard no matter how easy a test seems, or how "so and so" claimed how easy of a test it was - with that being said, I took ACE and passed it. It was mostly dealing with client relationships, legal issues, such as PAR-Q, liability, etc. and so on.
I had to take it 2 times, I was shocked as to why there wasn't much Exercise Science questions, which is my strength. I had the exact same questions, in the exact same fashion when I went the 2nd time and 'til this day, I only remember one and literally one question that was even remotely Exercise Science related. And it was, "What are actin & mysin?".
Like, you gotta be sh!ttin me dude...

I wish I had the link for you but I will try my best to explain it. Basicially this person passed the ACE test. She skipped the first three chapters and came back the them after reading the rest of the book. Like many those first three chapters scare most people into thinking they cannot do this. She first got the book read the first few chapters and never openned it again for almost three months. I think ACE needs to fix that. Chapter three is a tough one too and very boring to read.
Good Luck

Got a prescription to adderall
curious how is the adderall is effecting your workouts?
but to address your post, highlight 100% of the material.
also, i concur with the other posters, in that, the stuff you think will be on the test isn't and vice versa. if i remember correctly it even includes hypothetical situations in a manner which isn't even presented in the manual. it will be a big bonus if you've already been working as a trainer.

Don't stress over it too much. Remember the main points and read the chapter reviews. The test wasnot all that horrible. Some things were stressed more, but overall not that bad.

I used to crush up the inside of the pill and snort a few lines before a workout and holy **** did it set me off!
As for the TS I just read through each chapter, highlighted each of the important points, read over them over and over again, and took the test. Passed rather easily, I think you're stressing over it a bit much.

I wonder if I'll be able to score some under Obamacare?
Then again I'm far from being ADD or ADHD more like OCD...
Would just be nice if I could get a co-pay on stimulants!!!

Yeah all these origins and such are killing me also. Also there are so many muscles that do the same movements or sound similar , that it becomes hard to tell them apart

The first 4...
The first 4 chapters are the "worst" the rest of the book is pretty much smooth sailing. I remember calling their hotline, and the helpful person on the phone told me that another good strategy is to read through the first 4, taking notes, then go back over them again at the end.
I made flashcards for the things that weren't sticking, and reviewed anatomy at any chance I got (I hadn't taken Biology since jr. high... which is longer ago than I cared to admit). At random, go back and review a chapter in the dreaded first 4. You'll see it all starts to come together. Do you have a time limit, or time goal to complete your test?
Be sure to do a practice test, that can really let you know where you stand.
