u talkin about when dexter got announced 3rd, he was walking forward but branch grabbed his arm and dex turned and shook his hand
dex was just bummed, not a big deal. He expected to win, and just completely dissapointed, the last thing going on in his mind is i better shake hands so everyones happy, he spent the whole year working to be #1 and was #3....give the guy a break.
bb'rs are not known for their incredibly outgoing friendly personalities. Even tho jay is out there and promoting he's got the personality of a rock, he's so monotone, maybe a great guy, but bb'g isn't about personality, it's an isolated individual loner type sport

I doubt that's why the y put Dexter in 3rd.

Actually, Dexter did travel a lot more this past year and he continued putting on his NPC show, the Dexter Jackson Classic in Florida, which is the only NPC show in the nearby area from what I hear, and gave lots of NPC competitors from Florida a chance to compete. From what I hear, it's also one of the best-run shows in the entire NPC.
They each give in their own way. Jay travels a lot more though and so more folks get to see him.

The best person should win, regardless of anything else. That's how it is in all other sports. For bodybuilding to gain any respect/legitimacy, that is what is needed.

No, actually he's not. He's pretty nice but is quiet. I don't know why people keep saying that about him. I've met him in person and attended a seminar he spoke at when he was sponsored by Met-Rx and he was very nice to everyone.

Just saw the video and Dex didn't shake hands with Branch or Jay. I don't think it was meant as a diss, he probably just got so caught up in the moment that he didn't think about it.
Agree that it's not a big deal, but the Dexter Jackson haters are using this so-called slight as an excuse to trash his rep.

I didn't find Bob's comment that rude. It was just an observation.

x2, i don't see why people are always so bent on painting Dexter as a jerk on this forum. Even when it's been proven he didn't actually do/say something people say "well i wouldn't put it past him, he's a *insert insult here*"
The vid shows Branch giving Dex a pat on the shoulder, not going after him for a handshake. And later it shows Dex hugging Jay and walkin around congratulating folks just like usual. I don't know where some of you folks come up with this other stuff.

I think some will definitely agree with Jay's "Dex didn't win last year, i gave it to him". No chance on Earth he'll beat Cutler if the latter is spot on. I don't like uneducated people who can't take defeat as graciously as they take victory.

I have been wondering about this, as well. To me, it seemed as if bodybuilding was the exact same with either of them as Mr. O, most people don't know much about it and think Jay Cutler is just a quarterback for the Chicago Bears.

What does level of education have to do with any of this?

NOT THE CASE. watch the vid. you will CLEARLY see dex's arm raise up, THEN branch extends his arm and pats him on the right lat. that being said, they ALL congregate at the end and hug/shake hands. this is based off of the vid you just put up ANARKY. unless there is another vid showing otherwise, all of you need to get some rest.

I think to qualify what Bob said as a diss... you would first have to place the comments and their percieved context within the realm of dishonest, disingenuous, or inaccurate - none of which was true in regards to Bob's assesment of Dexter's representation of the IFBB during the past year.
Has anyone conjured up any type of working theory citing why Dexter's lines and crowd appeal/applause are depressingly dwarfed by Jay Cutler's... other than the fact Dexter just doesn't invest himself into being an outgoing, affable, and approachable athlete? I'm sure with the collection of tongue twisted mind warped ranting dimented 160 pound teenagers around the forums there has been some progress on this front?
It couldn't be that... Jay is a level above with his physical prowess and personality could it?
T Minus 3... 2... 1... for eternal pool of neuro-devoid ignorant rubbish

Dexter looked great, but damn he had a smug look on his face every time he was on stage. Just from the look on his face and how he held himself as he walked on stage was enough to make me not like him.

This, I hate this talk about dex/jay/whoever "not doing enough for the sport" (lol, seriously, what do you expect?) as well as "dex has no personality" or "branch deserves it because of his work ethic". What the **** have these things to do with anything? If Branch looks good and better as some other competitors he deserves placing better than them, regardless of how hard he works or how "lazy" they are in the gym. And if an autistic guy who`s just doing push ups and crunches and diets on cake and fast food looks better than the other competitors on stage, then he should win, plain and simple....
