Kai in trance
Did any notice that Kai seemed to be in a happy trance on the stage? A weird smile on his face? I thought according to the calender in his hotel room said he won the Olympia? But props on the debut 4th place showing, he's come a long way.

I think he thought in his mind he had 2nd or 3rd place it was a given that people knew Cutler had it in the bag.
kai deserved no less than 3rd imo.

I'm a pretty big Kai supporter and I thought he just looked off tonight. His routine didn't look comfortable, he didn't have that energy and freak factor like he is capable off bringing in. His condition was no where near his best either. Seemed a little burnt out or something. A 4th spot finish was really good for him in his first O.

Well he deservedly got 3rd in prejudging but Kai was off at the finals (quad and lat feathering aside). His fullness wasn't 100%, especially in the chest, and he was holding a lot of water in some areas.
What you can't see in these pics, is that he also lacked a lot of energy and dragged around the stage a lot. While Branch and Phil and Jay were exploding and popping their muscle fibres every step of the posedown Kai was walking around without hitting tight shots for more than a second or so. This is a HUGE deal.

Anyway, I guess Kai tried to squeeze that water to come in shredded at the finals, but he just depleted himself too much and it was like half way - nor shredded like he's used to, nor fullest like he was at the prejudging.
Though as a Kai fan I'm happy, he DELIVERED. And what do you expect from a guy whos biggest dream was to be at the Olympia stage, angry pissed off look like that baldy who took 2? I bet he enjoyed these moments to it's fullest. That's what you are supposied to do when you are living your dream.

he seemed a little spaced out and smiled when he got placed, i agree.
during his posing routine he held back and toned it down and then it felt like he just walked away from it. during the posedown he was basically molested and thrown around like a rag doll. jay acted like a confident champion, everybody followed him.
i think if kai came in with sharper conditioning and presented himself better he could have gotten second
