Help for a teenager, a brief and ****ty intro, and MESHUGGAH

Hello.

My name's Tyler, in case you were wondering. And I have a bit of a problem. See, I recently started playing seven string guitar. That's an extra string that's a whole fifth LOWER than the lowest on a six string, plus I tune down half a step. In English, that means I can play REALLY HEAVY ****. The music I play sounds like this:

(I can't post links! WTF? It's Meshuggah, extremely heavy, ****ed up twisted ****, better than all the crummy girl "metal" kids listen to now.)

But yah see, there's a problem with this, and that's where this forum comes into play. Now, as most teens here probably know, metal+teenagers is normally associate with things like Bullet for My Valentine, Slipknot, Disturbed, Hollywood Undead, Hot Topic, Tripp pants, sparkly vampires, and being a tool. Now, you're still probably wondering why the **** you're reading my post. Well, I'm 5 feet 6 inches, and I weigh a whopping 116 pounds. And since I play seven string guitar, that simply won't do. I just don't have the Frederik Thornendal, Meshuggah long hair look.

Okay, all bull**** aside, the fact that I want to get bigger has nothing to do with guitars. I'm just a little worried about how skinny I am compared to other kids, and I'm seeking help from the people who know best (AKA forum with like 3 million body builders on it...no exaggeration.) I haven't checked out this whole website yet, and I will (should've done it first, read the stickies and stuff) but I'm gonna try to give you as much info as I can, and I really need some advice on starting trying to get bigger, gain muscle, and most importantly be more healthy.

So:

I'm 5'6'', 116. I want to gain weight and muscle, without getting "fat". I'm willing to put effort in and MOST IMPORTANTLY have lots of patience, but my problem is I have very little time. Between guitar, cross country, and school, I'm pretty much drawn thin as paper. My house has zero exercise equipment, literally, but at my well-funded school we have a great fitness center that has everything (that I'd imagine) a fifteen year old kid like me would need. I already know I can make significant changes to my diet easily, and I can probably spend anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes after school on any given day but Tuesday in the fitness center.

I can do any kind of exercise at home without equipment AKA push-ups, curl-ups at home. I can't run outside of cross country, because I have no treadmill and my street is un-runable.

I'm looking to build muscle mass, but ultimately be a less skinny person. I want to be wider without being "fat", and stronger. Like every fifteen year old boy. ^_^ But I know nothing about setting goals, diets, or even how to begin exercising. I'm a skinny music kid, really (although I'm not emo or goth, and I hate everything that begins with nu or ends with core. Technical death metal is the ****: Opeth, Cynic, Death, Carcass \m/).

So please, advise me. I'd appreciate the help. Or, alternatively, you could just point me in the right direction (articles on the site, threads I may have missed, etc.).

Well I'm gonna browse and see what I can find. Try not to be too harsh, I'm not ripped like you guys are so I only have words to protect myself. XD

Peaaaace.

You bigger tool for thinking that you need to look like Meshuggah's guitarist. If you are really into metal you shouldn't give a **** what others think you look like.

Im not a tool for listening to Avenged Sevenfold, I listen to a lot of other metal and rock such as As I Lay Dying, Metallica, Pantera, and Iron Maiden. Just because someone listens to a certain type of music doesn't mean they are a tool. Go **** yourself.

Why are you guys being such dicks? Sure, he might have insulted a couple of people by stereotyping, but he still deserves our help. I don't have the time right now to write a long post, so I'm going to do it in the next couple of days. AbstractAsylum, if I forget to, just message me.
