Do you mean they're gonna be doin a physical on you, or you're gonna be doing a mock scenario where you take a pretend "client" through a 30-minute session?
If they're gonna be testing YOU and what YOU'RE capable of, more often than not they focus on the cardio and muscular endurance. No breaks, no rest time, no nothin.
It's gay trust me. I had to do one years ago as well. Most people in this industry don't understand bodybuilding and that there's different types of people that are involved in PT'ing in general. If you get a non-bodybuilder kinda guy testing you, you'll think you're ****ed. Don't even expect those types of trainers to understand what DOMS are and how bodybuilders train their bodies and what the recovery setup is like. Bodybuilders don't condition themselves to do freakin 4km runs or 2km bike sprints etc. then 50 pushups and 50 pullups, back and forth back and forth one after the other.
I personally don't see the point in those tests anyway, since a trainer's goals and a client's goals don't necessarily have to relate. A trainer's job is to train the person they're working with and know how to get that client to their goal, not so much "keep up with them" or beat them out or compete with them or train side by side with them. A test is better suited to testing the abilities of you as a trainer, verbally. Your knowledge base and how you communicate and coach people. Your motivational techniques etc.
On the other hand, if you're doin a mock scenario where you're training the pretend client, then mix both weights and cardio and provide variety whilst educating.
