He might be, but I am not. You guys finishing dead last for so many years and having good management is paying HUGE dividends now.
Kind of hoping the Leafs try to mold themselves a little like the Pens. Strong picks, a great farm team and great development of the Stars on the team.

As much as I want to say it's all about the management and farm team, Malkin, Crosby, and Fleury are the backbone to the team and the reason why the Pens are playing at this level of hockey. This is a result of (like you said) the Pens being so sh*t for so long, and management making the right (in some cases, the obvious) picks in drafts.
I won't be surprised if the Isles repeat what the Pens did. They'll be sh*t this year with Tavares, but it'll take one or two more top picks and they'll be hoisting the Cup again.

Well the Management had a lot to do with picking the players, even though it was obviously the best player available, the Leafs on the other hand have not been too bright on draft day and almost always pick the flop of the group.
I agree that the Isles will return to glory if they keep making the right picks and having Tavares on that team to build around is great.
My post was more to say that although Crosby, Malkin & Fleury are the nucleus they are not playing tonight and the farm team is still taking it to the Leafs with I am sure a few regulars in the lineup. Hate to admit it, but I was not watching tonight so no idea who is actually in the Leafs lineup.

Game going to a shootout now
Leafs hit 3 posts between the last couple mins of regulation and OT
Toskola has looked solid
Edit: Leafs win 3-2 in shootout after being down 2-0
Kadri scores tying goal and beautiful shootout goal

Bad news for us Blackhawk fans.. Burish out 6 monthes with torn ACL.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_yl...v=ap&type=lgns
I think either Jack Skille or Jake Dowell will make the roster now.

Well thanks for the support. We do kind of fail though because when we do get into the playoffs and win a game, we have a freaking parade up & down Yonge St.
I kind of get it when we win a series, but after a victory it is like World Cup downtown.

Well we do have a pretty fervent group of fans and Toronto is generally regarded as Hockey Capital. Does not always equate into having the best team, hell we have not had that since 1967 but we know our hockey.
Kessel just wants to play in front of the most rabid fans and get the most exposure he possibly can and you know the only place to do that is Toronto.

He may not be one of the best defensively, but his defensive capabilities are WIDELY understated (which I can confidently say after seeing every game he has played (and those he hasn't due to injury and whatnot) throughout his entire career).

Kadri has sick hands... he will be on plenty of highlight reels throughout his career. I think with some added size he can be a 35 goal guy. Leafs made a sweet choice... much smarter than if they had given up the world to try and get B. Schenn.

yes the Pens made some layup picks, but Shero built this team into Cup Champs.
He hired Bylsma
Guerin for a 3rd
Kunitz+Tangradi for Whitney
Signed Fedotenko, Cooke, Sykora, traded for Gill
those guys pushed the Pens over the top
then he got McKee for 800k this offseason!
btw Im rooting for Christian Hanson, we went to HS together

And won the lottery, pens were just very lucky for a few years. They wernt real hard picks to make, most teams go through a cycle, pens wont be picking high for a few years.

Just dropped Cheechoo and picked up Ryder. I figured that Ryder would be on the starting line along with Savard and just read an article on NHL.com that Cheechoo would likely be on the second line (Kovalev). I like my chances with Ryder better.
Good pickup?

LOL, you must be reading the book Penguins fans for Dummies. You guys were crap for many years and how you got Fleury, Crosby, Malkin and also smart moves by management to get rid of salaries and take 1st round picks. How did you end up with Lemieux? From being doormats of the NHL for many, many years. Same with the players I just mentioned.
You going to deny Pitt packing it in only to get the 1st round picks? Everyone in the NHL knew what they were doing. But I guess they won the Cup last year so we can all look forward to you being an arrogant POS for this season.
Well there we have it..... A guy TRYING to have a Million dollar body and he just showed us that he has a 10 cent brain.
Carry yourself on out of here.
LOL, just noticed you are 19. I will just leave it at that. I will just say that I was a Lemieux fan before he got drafted, so in essence I have been a Pens fan longer than you have been alive. Carry on.

Its a gambler, ryder is likely to hit the 65 point mark this year by being on the top line. But it is still my belief that even on a second line with kovalev, cheechoo will see a lot of icetime and pp time. I expect him to either be close to ryder or just as good as.
