yeah for distance, that sure is going to make or some bloody hands. I did not know they had any competitions outthere. How long ago did you start holding competitions?

There?s actually a ton of people who compete near here. People are also more then willing to travel for this sport. It?s awesome!
I started this thing up last year when I was 20 with some help from a couple people. This year is totally different though. Alex Truman is helping me more then I could ever ask for and it will be much bigger then last year.
We got it sanctioned through the NAS now and it will be a Gold Level meet. In addition it will be held basically in the middle of our campus so it?ll be interesting!!

Is 232 the standard for HW in all competitions? and are people allowed to use straps on deadlift, or is that the point of it being axle, making it hard as hell.

Yeah, it starts off pretty high. Around 12-13".

Yes that's usually how the weight classes run. Depends on the host I guess.
Axle = making it hard as hell =)

If you are worried about lodging the hotel on the sign up form said to give them a call before hand to make arrangments and she would give you the $50 per night room. Here are a few pictures of the room.

1.25" handles on both sets. The opens will be using 5" thick tubes and the novices will be using a 2" thick tube.
http://newyorkbarbells.com/0410.html - basically the exact same as what's on here, but they are home made, and our 5"ers weigh 160 empty. haha

The thread has been dead but the comp is still going to be a killer time. If you are planning on signing up be sure to get on it! We got two more entries today.

Hey everyone,
I've been getting a lot of calls the last few days. I hope to see some more entries coming in over the next week or so.
If anyone is in the area, I have a house a few blocks from campus. We will be training at my place all day Saturday September 5th, and anyone is welcome to stop over and train.
