can you get a tough workout from a cardio row machine?

Wondering if I should invest in a cardio row machine for my home but I'd like to know if they can provide challenging enough workouts (I do mostly HIIT training) first. Any one ever used one?

If by tough you mean good cardio workout the answer is yes.

Read crossfit's reviews of them

these people SWEAR by C2 (concept 2) rowers. I can definitely see the benefit - you can only run so much until your lower body has taken too much abuse. I'd love to have one but they are rather expensive for me right now + I don't have the space.

If you compare them to a treadmill, eliptical, or anything else I think it's a lot better. You are exerting direct force as opposed to potentially just bouncing up and down on a moving track (treadmill). I'd def try one out in a gym to be sure tho...they're not cheap
