Strech marks?
I have so many strech marks on my tummy and I would like to know if someone knows what to do to make them disapear ... or at least, making them a little bit more invisible. When i'll reach my goal, and even before, I want to be great with my body, and I know that if my strech marks are too apparante, I won't be. Any tips?

I got them between my shoulders and pecs at age 16 because I started training back then. They are still with me although faded over time. I don't think there is anything you can really do short of perhaps a laser thing. Good luck in your training.

Stretch marks or striae are tearing in the dermis. You cant get rid of them with any creams or lotions. There are no magic pills either. You can spend a ton on surgery, but who wants to do that? I never had stretch marks from growing up but I got a ton when I had my first son. Now I have THREE sons and they are very light. I will tell you what I use. It may sound silly but try it, you have nothing to lose. Go to Walmart. Pick up Freeman heel and callus balm. It has shea butter, plum, peppermint, and tea tree oil in it. I have read up on peppermint, and tea tree oil for stretch marks and also lavender. But plum is close enough for me. It made mine smoother and less visible. There are other brands there too, but this one is cheaper, like 3 or 4 bucks.

Yeah...I got them on my chest after having my children. They've been there for 9 years but keep getting progressively lighter.

I haven't been able to get rid of them, but those airbrust self-tanners hide them pretty well. For some reason, the lotion self-tanners that you have to rub in seem to make them worse. Actual tanning seems to make it worse too.

Fading creams should help fade the appearance of stretch marks.

I have it in my arms it sucks since you are triaining the first thing that you can show off is your stretch marks.
You can use all the previous but at the end you can not "remove them" just use skin creams from now on. so you won't get anymore.

Tanning for me, makes it a lot better. I've heard people that say the same thing but I've also heard some say it makes them worse. It must be different for different skin types or something.

Try not worry so much about them too much now...instead worry about getting closer to your goals and getting your body healthy, strong, nutrified, hydrated and lean...you will be amazed how your skin will recoup when you provide it with the nutrients it needs!
I know that many women have found great results from some of the topical scar creams - mederma...and also there are laser treatments that can help. One other thing to mention is that I've seen many women with stretch marks who compete and look amazing on stage- you'd never know they have them!

100 % Shea Butter mixed with 100% Vitamin E, Really makes a difference. It takes time at least 3 months before you really notice a difference.
They won't disappear completely but it will be very close. I use it twice a day

Is stretch marks caused by gaining weight or losing weight? Or both?

In my experience I only got them from gaining weight. I have a friend that was losing weight and got stretch marks from gaining muscle around his shoulders and chest area. So you can lose weight and still get them from gaining muscle that causes the skin to stretch. I got up to 226 lbs when I was in 7th grade and had a lot of stretch marks. I got down to 137 lbs right after high school and I did not get any more stretch marks from losing the weight. The stretch marks lightened over time.

Interesting... what color are your stretch marks? Mine are white, so when I tan, they show up lighter than my tan. The self tanner seems to cover them though.

I have a female friend who had great success minimizing the appearance of her stretch marks with laser treatment. It wasn't outrageously expensive, either. Somewhere in the $1000 range.

I used bio-oil after having my son, i was left with strechmarks up to my boobs that were bright red and purple (pretty!). The bio-oil helped them fade to the point where im comfortable in a 2piece again. When i hit puberty i got strechmarks on my boobs and hips and it took them three years to fade to where i was comfortable, the bio-oil took just over a year to give me the same look. They'll never disappear unfortunately, but i can only notice my old strechmarks in bad lighting, and even then its only cause i know they were there!

I made my own magic cream to deal with stretch marks, simply put , I've got every kind you can have, the thin light ones, thin purple ones, deep white , and deep purple ones ( stupid boobs ugh)
Before you turn to something like laser, try exfoliating the stretch marks with a loofah in the shower, then put on a scar reducing cream, or vitamin E.
Personally I use a mixture of Bio oil , Jamieson Vitamin E cream , and their pure concentrated Vitamin E.
No matter what you use, in terms of cream , your going to have to do it for awhile, unfortunatly it won't happen overnight!
Good luck!

Because streatch marks are a dermal tear they unfortunately cant disappear. However, Shea butter and cocoa butter are the best things to help streatch marks to be less visable Also when pregnant these are great to use on the tummy to keep from getting streatch marks..

They will never go away...exfoliating is the only way to minimize its uneven pigments. Don't waste money on creams and the next baloney they try to sell. Tanning, spray tan and self tanner hides the pigment discoloration a wee bit.

Bio -oil, Vitamin E, Shea butter worked wonders for my friend. She had deep visible stretch marks, now its not so visible. She mixed everything together and applied it twice a day.

I've got real bad stretch marks under both armpits/shoulders from working out, and my lower back has whipped strech marks from growing up.
I look at them as war/battle scars.
