Shy about being on stage
I might do my first comp in Nov. with a friend of mine....
I've been looking at comps and idk about the idea of walking in front of a crowd almost naked..... And I've always been somewhat shy.....
Is this natural for anyone awaiting the first time getting on stage?
Like when I see it, I think" theres no way on Earth I'm ever going to do that, let alone get comfortable doing that."
But I hear everyone says it's a the funnest experience and so that keeps me wanting to do it......
Any tips?experiences?

I'm not a woman but I get anxieties too. I think it's natural unless you're a ham by nature you know?
When you first step out butterflies abound but by the time you step off stage you feel exhilarated and wanna go right back out...then the next time that show you go out you feel 100x more comfortable even!
If you're DEATHLY afraid of it but it's something you want to do then you just gotta suck it up. If you're in good shape TRUST ME that people will be thinking more along the lines of "wow she looks incredible" than ripping you. Also keep in mind the audience knows what they paid to see! its not like they bought a ticket thinking it was a baseball game! lol 99% of the time its a positive experience for EVERYONE

This!
Once you are backstage, and you realize everyone is just as naked as you are, the nerves really subside.

I agree with the last 2 posts... I'm a pretty shy, quiet person by nature. The thought of public speaking or performing haunts me, but stepping onto a bodybuilding stage was one of the best times I've ever had. Once you've put in the work for the few months beforehand and can see the changes you've made, it will become something you're eager to do.

It's already been said but I'll just continue to reinforce it. I PROMISE you, by the time you work your ass off for months and years to get to that point, you're not sitting there thinking "oh me oh my everyone will laugh at me oh gee whiz". Everyone there came to see a bodybuilding show, and all you will be thinking is TIME TO DOMINATE

x3 - everyone is in the same boat.
The only thing I would do different next time is bring a beach towel or something that I can cover up with during all the off time that will not wipe off the tanning.
I just hate walking around wearing a Grape-Smuggler when it's not necessary.

I was soo scared for my first one. First of all, i thought i was going to trip and fall once i got onstage and second of all, i was small. When you get there and get comfortable with the other competitors, you wont even think about it. Atleast thats how i was. I used to be REALLY shy, doing competitions has improved that a ton. You will do great :-)

Yes, that is very natural. The best way to overcome that fear is to practice, practice, practice your posing. And do so in front of people as well such as trainers, training partners or best yet in posing class if anyone offers such a thing in your area.
Train hard, diet hard and bring your best! That will also help your confidence.
