I'm just not impressed by your curl. You could curl 200lbs like that and I wouldn't care. Compound lift stats are a lot more impressive, in my opinion. Any jackass can get good at curling if they do it enough.

So it's stupid that I am in reach of a teen WR? I've said in previous threads I am actually gunning for a WR, that I have a very realistic reach of. I DO focus on my bench, just not as much. I've smith benched 235 x 5 because I was stupid, then I moved on to flat bench DB, and after my 4th time I've hit 85's for 6..my bench is good, but it doesn't have the potential that my curls do. The video posted of the other guy preacher curling...he holds a WR in curling..he's a year older than me and I can already out due him...I've added 75+ lbs to my BB curl in 4 months, and in the next year I can totally dismantle his BB lift, but I'd be heavier..then I cut weight and I'd still have enough to beat it.
So, short and sweet: I obsess over curls because I am in reach of a teen WR.
Hey man, I know you have great potential. But also eep in mind that my preacher vid was done at the very end of my workout and it is also almost 8 months old. I do over 100's now and did 90's and sometimes near a hundred then when I had a bit more energy. My comp curl has actually gone up a good deal since then as well. But since it's a lift with a smaller muscle group, it is very hard to put large numbers on it. Also, cutting bodyweight can really drain your strength like none other from what Iv'e found. But still I think You have potential to do great if you train hard. What I do is called powersports with NASA, you are required to do curl bench, and deadlift for total. You should look on their websites to see if they have meets in your area.

Thank you for your replies. I have been training preacher curls for 4 months. I started with 40's. I barbell 155 x 8, my form is the same quality as yours in your vid except the difference is you lean back more, and I lean forward more. The only advantage is I will make more noob gains than you since I read that you have been seriously training for 3 years. I'd really like to see a new preacher vid, that'd be sick. Btw, when did you turn 18? I turn 17 in 5 months.
What is the weight limit in your class? Like is it 150-170 or something like that?
I have been curling and **** since I was 13 (3 years ago) but it was bull**** training. It was in my basement, I made decent gains and a lot of strength, but I was a fatttttt bastard (5'6 240) and then I cut my weight down to 154 and lost a ****kk load of mass and strength from that.
I see in your BB vids, that you sort of have like a jerk with your hips..it's obviously allowed, but my question is that your personal lifting 'quirk' or is it an actual, helpful technique? I've never competed in a competition or anything, and I admit you know more about this than me and I can learn a lot from you.
All in all, thank you for your reply and in a friendly way, I strive to beat you :P. I really respect your lifts, you and I get bashed to **** for curling and we both keep doing our thing.
