Well, I don't think you're boring, and I'd like us gay men to talk more about fitness, lifting, routines...the whole bit, in addition to everything else. Just my opinion.
I'm not getting any younger, but I plan to compete on a stage in an NPC competition, just once...for the experience, and win my class, not just do it. And I gotta do it before I'm 90 <g>. LONG journey ahead of me.... hope I'm not the only one with interests like these on the forum (?)

Interesting article. It reminds me of a saying I heard somewhere..."women need a reason to have sex, men only need a place to have sex."

This is definitely an issue of class and education, IMHO. Most of us realize that reasoning with a child gets much better results than physical discipline. Most people who've read my posts know that I'm from a working class background. I had plenty of spankings in my youth, but I can honestly say that I never remember getting one over screaming in a department store. I had to do something extreme. I grew up (during my spanking days, lol) on a suburban street where every ranch was the same, 1/4 acre lots, everybody knew each other. The absolute worst part of getting spanked was that my mom always made me go to the back yard to pick my on switch (hickory, they were called). If you were unfortunate enough to be seen by the other kids in the neighborhood they would all gather around the window and listen. The ragging you'd receive from them was exponentially worse than any spanking could be.

I agree with both of you. Kids who comes from dysfunctional homes, or worse, need UNCONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE, STABILITY, NURTURING, DISCIPLINE (non-violent type), STRUCTURE, GOAL-SETTING, and enduring PATIENCE when the invariably test, and test again.
By locking them away, or throwing them in the "system," we're certain to breed a new generation of criminals and emotionally stable, damaged human beings that will be unable to contribute to society... or enjoy it.
The Supreme Court in the State of Arkansas recently ruled that gays, single or coupled, were "not fit" to be foster parents. That state has an enormous "inventory" of kids in institutions, because they're aren't enough "suitable" foster families to take them in.
What a wonderful country we live in.

I'd like to take a moment to thank EVERYONE who has offered advice... One of my gay friends (who is like 35 and is also my hair guy) says he might be able to hook me up with a low level job somewhere, like barback or something. (seems like you this industry really is only enter able by connection!).. I'm up to 12 applications.
I've started using craigslist, who knew so many businesses posted jobs on there.
And ryne, thats a really useful tip too, I always appear very confident to the manager, but i guess i should be more talkative to the host, or anyone else I see that is working there as well... Well actually I was really talkative to this girl who was working at one place, she was totally flirting with me and made it REALLY easy to be confident and outgoing during that interview.
BTW ryne, you are really hot

I debate myself with physical punishment a lot. I think that it could be used effectively in child rearing as long as it is used appropriately and never excessively. Would I be comfortable using it, probably not. But it is something that I wonder a lot about. Like the conditions when it is appropriate and when it is not.

I don't understand why you are crushed. Is it because you liked him and he is with someone else?
One of my best friends has a kid and he is gay. It happens.

I know exactly how you feel... I had a huge crush on this guy. It was love at first sight. I loved the way he looked, his personality, the stuff he was into... He was like the perfect guy. When i found out he had a BF I was crushed and lost hope. My stomach knotted up, i was depressed for days, and never ended up engaging him.
6 months later he started talking to me out of the blue (we had mutual friends). He was telling me his relationship was at an end point and we became friends... Eventually after just talking for a few weeks we had our first date.
On september 21st of this year we will celebrate our 2 year anniversary
(and yes things are going much better than they were. It seems like we were literally suffocating the relationship by being together, literally almost 24/7. We've been spending a lot more time apart and it has really helped give more life to our relationship... I've also completely changed the way I approach things, and in general I no longer "put up" with stuff.. just in general a lot has been matured and things are going good)

on the topic of parents who spank / hit their kids... My father used to hit or kick whenever i did something, that to him, was unacceptable, and i didn't stop hating him for it for years and years (i'd literally think about how great it would be if he died and it was just my mom and the family)... At this point hes a completely different person than he was back then so we've gotten a little bit closer, but i always have this deep down contempt for him and the way he treated me. Today his opinion of anything or insight is of little value to me, and i take most of what he has to say with a grain of salt. Its too bad because if not for those events, i know we would probably be much closer... But it was scarring, it effected me in a huge way, and its not something i can really get over.

We've been spending a lot more time apart and it has really helped give more life to our relationship... I've also completely changed the way I approach things, and in general I no longer "put up" with stuff.. just in general a lot has been matured and things are going good)

Interesting. For me it's the opposite. My mother used to hit me when I didn't behave (never in public btw), but to be honest that doesn't bother me as much as the emotional abuse I suffered from her. While she still is my mother, I don't like her and I try to keep my distances from her. My dad was always so busy while I was growing up so we didn't really have a strong relationship. However, as the years go by, our relationship is strengthening.

[QUOTE=atticus_a;381684011]I debate myself with physical punishment a lot. I think that it could be used effectively in child rearing as long as it is used appropriately and never excessively. Would I be comfortable using it, probably not. But it is something that I wonder a lot about. Like the conditions when it is appropriate and when it is not.
Even though I was hit/spanked as a child and don't think I'm any worse off for it, I still don't believe it's an effective way to discipline children. The same neighborhood kids that would witness my spankings and I would conspire about doing things that we knew would get us spanked. We'd rationalize it...spankings only lasted a couple of minutes and weren't that bad...what the hell let's do it!! The point is that it isn't effective.

Oh, come on. That's waaay over the top even for a gay bar and certainly doesn't fall under the category of "flirting." If somebody came up and just started rubbing your crotch it would scare almost anyone off. Well, except you and me of couse.
ROFLMAO!!! Is that a Freudian slip? I think Darrly might have to be his new nickname.
So what do you have to do to get a spanking now?
Fetish website. recon dot com
It's where you go to get a spanking.
