They had help. It started with daft hands, than daft girls made it into a dance, then I think the guy made a single one with just him, and than another with his brother. The original girl's were brilliant this was just a very good interpretation of that for males. I just like seeing males perform more than females.

It's really a basic set of moves repeated and gradually getting faster with a bit in the middle that's different. But yeah... I don't think I could do it lol... my coordination sux!!

Same, it would take me several takes... it takes me at least a month of continuous practice to perfect new HIIT exercises. I just tried a new core routine the other night, I felt so clumsy and I almost fell flat on my face lol

You could easily look like them. I have confidence in you!
I couldn't do it either. I like it a lot. But like you guys my coordination is less than wonderful. I would still try because it is fun to try but probability of success is limited.

Hahahaha, however I appreciate it more when a girl is agile and graceful than when a man is (no offense Trvlr... you're as gracious as a butterfly...). Men are built for power!

ok... If T were here, but he isn't, he would kill me for this (I will say it anyway). I'm not the kind of person that drowns his sadness in alcohol. I prefer doing something more constructive... that reminds me tomorrow I'm going to look into CPT/CSCS courses... that will cheer me up

That would be cool. I like them a lot. I think the technologic video is the creepiest thing that I have ever seen though. God, it weirds me out.
Katy perry is playing tomorrow at bumbershoot. I will sadly miss bumbershoot this year.

If I ever find it, I'll give it to you.
That Bumbershoot line-up just SUCKS!!
They must have been pretty desperate to have to get Sheryl Crow & Katy Perry to headline what is supposed to be an Alternative festival.
Sad.

searching for a bar tending job completely sucks.. anyone have any tips?
Anyone want to review my resume?
(vertical grey line to right of martini does not show when printed)
omg just realized that included all my personal info LOL... I'm going to make a redacted version
EDIT: here it is
I've applied to 9 places, two look promising... 1 is a gay bar that is kind of a sketchy underground place, its dark, theres a pool table, and a lot of beer is drank (no little fairy twinks here)... but i figure experience is better than no experience... But if i even include this place as a reference would any future people even want to hire me? Not unless its another gay bar.... but should i still go after the position?

It's been the experience of most bartenders I know that you have to have some sort've "in" with the owner or other staff of the place you wish to work. I know this goes for pretty much all the rock clubs & gay places I've been friends with the staff of.

Boon - try not to get discouraged. You may have to apply to 20 more places before you find a gig. Bar tending jobs are pretty competitive.
Keep in mind that we're all different and have different tastes. The underground place sound like heaven to me. My favorite bar here in Atlanta used to be the Pheonix. It was a sleazy dive bar - no dance floor - a pool table, couple of video games, a TV and a big, dark bar. The people that frequented the place were, for the most part, extremely friendly and very nice. It was a mix of professionals and, well, less educated people. It was definitely a sleazy place though...the reason it closed was because two guys got caught by an undercover cop having oral sex at the bar.
I don't know if the Pheonix is anything like the place you're speaking of...but my experience is that neighborhood type bars tend to draw very friendly people that are more willing to talk and have a good time than big clubs where people are only interested in partying and hooking up.
Having a gay dive bar on your resume may hinder your future opportunities, but it just depends. It's also likely that it could help you get a job in a bigger, disco type gay club which could be a really good bar tending gig.
I wouldn't hesitate to take the job if it's offered. Just make sure there's no strings attached if you know what I mean.
Oh...and nice resume!
edit: one thing to consider on your resume...say that you're outgoing and fun...even if you're not! Bar tenders should make their customers feel good, so you should say that you have charisma.

Thanks, good suggestions, Yea its pretty much exactly what you described... I felt SSOOOO awkward standing there at the bar waiting for the guy to come over (my first time in a bar that wasnt also a restaurant, and also my first gay bar experience!)... Dressed with nice jeans, tucked in polo, totally different from everyone else... I mean the people did seem very nice, there were a few trolls but also a few cute guys.
I actually got the cat call whistle on my way out LOL.... I'll pursue the job because at this point i NEED one regardless.

OMG...I'll bet you were petrified! I remember so vividly the first time I mustered up enough courage to go to a gay bar. If you get this job (or any job in a gay bar) you'll get zillions of offers from guys...after all that's ultimately why most of them are there.
I'm a little confused though...you're 20 years young. I thought you had to be 21 to even get in the place.

LOL...you did good!
So, you don't have to be 21 to work there? Did the interview go well?

In Maine you can bar tend at 17 as long as you have a 21 year old supervisor. There was no interview because the bar manager wasn't in, but the other manager was there and said he'd give my resume to the bar manager. I'm going to follow up soon. But he spent like 5 minutes trying to find an application for me after giving him my resume, so I guess that means they are interested, I mean if they weren't he would have just taken my resume, said thanks we'll call you if anything opens, and thrown it in the trash like another pub i went to.
I went to this irish pub, and i knew i had no chance but thought i might as well try, it was pretty classy, and he said "I'll put this with all the others"... I saw him chuck it under the cash register area... I looked over when he went to go make a drink and it was a trash can.

You should definitely follow up with every place where you submitted a resume or application - even the jerks that threw your application in the trash. If possible, follow up in person. Call ahead and ask when the hiring manager is on duty and show up when they are there. In my opinion following up an interview or application makes a very good impression. Tell them how excited you are to work at that place because...(fill in the blank).
Attached is a photo of my recipe file. I still refer to it 20 years after I made it. It was very useful to me the first few weeks/months that I worked. Yes, they're type written, LOL. It was the late 80's when computers weren't as prevalent.
