Hey girls,
Again, it's been a few days since I updated! Things are going well. Workouts this week have started off great - I'm feeling a bit tired but still working hard. Feeling a little pathetic since I haven't used the stepmill for a while (treadmill instead) and after doing 30+ minutes on it last night, my legs are pretty sore! lol. I guess I'll start hitting the stepmill a little more often my cardio. I also want to try to get some more outdoor runs in before the weather starts going downhill! It's supposed to be 32 C today (90 F) which is nice for September so maybe we'll hang outside tonight!
This week is whipping by so fast... I went to a social thing for work last night and didn't get home until about 8, then headed to the gym again b/c I didn't finish my cardio in the morning. I'm doing better at making sure I get it all in. Diet's going good as well. I skipped out on the gym this morning but I'm going with my sister tonight so it's all good Back & biceps - I want to make a goal for pullups again and start doing them regularly... I miss them. I've been keeping better track of my numbers on things - it seems to make a big difference for me knowing what I lifted last time. I feel like that helps me to really push myself.
Hope everyone's having a good week! I'll check in later after the workout.
CHEST
Incline Bench - 27.5#
Incline Flies - 15s
DB Bench Press - 27.5# <-- Could be doing more; I need to move downstairs where they keep the heavier weights...

Bent Over Lat Raises - 12.5s
DB Lateral Raises - 10s <-- wow feeling weak on these!
Upright Row - 30#
Rope Tricep Pressdowns - 50#
Overhead Tricep Extension - 17.5#
Close Grip BP - 60#
CARDIO: 30 min stepmill @ level 8, 10-ish minutes elliptical
Stretching

I want to make a goal for wide grip pull ups. They are hard and I want to be able to bust them out like nothin lol. I also think they are an amazing back exercise
Does your gym have a ladies only section? Is that what you mean when you say 'move downstairs'? Come Karina. Lift the heavy stuff with the real lifters lol. GSerious though..Great workout!

I totally know what you mean about keeping track of your weights. I feel naked without my little workout keeper!
Oh and I 3rd the getting back with the pullup thing! I seem to lose my numbers so quick with them if I don't keep them in my workout!

I am SO sore everywhere!! I think I forgot for a while what it feels like to really have an entire week of solid workouts... hehe... I deserve it Stephen and I played tennis for a couple hours on Wednesday night so that's probably contributing to it too! But honestly it feels so good.
I'm proud of myself this morning for dragging myself to the gym after work last night (I worked until 10 pm!) then going again this morning with my sister for cardio. Last night's workout was awesome. Stephen came with me but did his own thing so I was able to really focus and put everything I had into each exercise. I did pullups in addition to the lat pulldowns that are in my plan - I'm thinking I'm REALLY out of practice!
My sister wants me to run stairs with her Saturday morning (which will be following my leg workout). I'm considering it, part of me thinks it sounds like a fun challenge; the other part of me thinks I could potentially need a wheelchair next week... lol. This weekend isn't going to be much fun anyway because I have to go into work tomorrow sometime and get some stuff done. It's just been so busy, we've been putting in a lot of Saturdays this month... argh.
Hope everyone's having a great Friday!!
BACK / BICEPS
Pullups - 5, 4, 3 <-- Uh oh.
Bent Over Barbell Row- 20# +bar
Seated Cable Row - 75#
Straight Arm Pulldown - 50#
Hyperextensions - 20x10#
WG Pulldowns - 60#
EZ Bar Curls - 40#
Incline DB Curls - 15#
Alternating DB Curls - 15#
AM CARDIO (this morning) : 25 min stepmill @ level 8, 20 min. elliptical @ level 6

Um, yes, I was in the ladies only section... haha... but it's only on back day, because for some reason my gym only has a hyperextension bench in the ladies room - also the wide grip pulldown up there is a little lower so I can reach it better. So most days I do my back workout in the ladies section - hence the problem with the weights getting higher. I really just need to run downstairs at that point and finish off there. Thanks J!

Great job getting to the gym and awsome work on the weights. I love those workouts where you are totallly focused on each exercise and can hit it hard.
Good luck with the stairs tomorrow (if you go).

Happy Sunday!!
I really have no words to describe my workout this afternoon... I'm sure it's just because it's fresh in my mind, but I feel like I've NEVER worked so hard!!! It was crazy... let's just say there were some craaaazy reps on those front squats and I really had to focus on just pushing through and ignoring how I felt!! lol. I was absolutely DRENCHED in sweat!
This weekend has been busy - I went into work on Saturday and didn't end up leaving until after six... so a long day! The most I managed was some cardio on Sat. night before we went out to meet some friends. Sunday = coffee time, meeting up with our photographer (to get our wedding photo album) and the craaazy workout!
I didn't take pics and measurements this weekend but I will be next Saturday - hopefully I will have some good changes to report. My goal is to get in seriously good shape before our cruise in December I know it's a lifestyle, etc etc but it's just me, I love timelines...!!
Hope everyone's having a great weekend!
LEGS & ABS
Squats - 115#
DB Lunges - 15s <-- Love/hate/love/hate
Leg Extensions - 70#
45 Deg Leg Press - 270#
Front Squats - 115# <-- High reps!! Holy crap my legs/butt were in so much pain! lol.
Smith Squats - 135#

DB RLDL - 30s
Standing Calf Raises - 80#
Hanging Leg Raises - Um, like 5... very unimpressed!

Soooo how did the workout today go? We always seem to be on the same workouts, LOL. How are you liking the plan. Do you have the HIIT intermixed with weights? Your leg workout looks great chick!
I'm totally a timeline type of person too. I think that goes with Type A personalities!

WEDNESDAY!!!
My workout yesterday was awesome -- I worked so hard and I couldn't even finish ALL my reps on some of the exercises. I bought a new ipod to replace my old one (which was stolen when our car got broken into) and it was great to have new music to work out to!! My upper body isn't feeling too sore yet, more like limp... but I'm sure that will come... haha My legs are STILL tender from Sunday! Tonight is back & biceps, which I plan to do right after work, then going out with some friends and early to bed (hopefully) - I keep saying that but it never happens!
My food scale ran out of batteries... so that sucks... I didn't get to measure yesterday or the day before - I'll get some new ones tonight b/c I forget how much I rely on that thing! Measuring is such a pain without it...
Other than that, nothing much else is new - I've been planning more for our trip in December and even though it's so far away, I'm starting to get super excited because work has been INSANE and I REALLY need a vacation!!!
Hope everyone's week is going well... I can't believe it's Wednesday already!
CHEST / SHOULDERS / TRICEPS
DB Incline Bench Press - 30s
DB Incline Flies - 12.5s
DB Flies - 12.5s <-- Harder than it looks, crazy reps!
DB Bench Press - 27.5s
Pushups - 11, 8, 5 <-- Cable crossover station was taken the entire time... I waited then decided to do my own thing!
Barbell Overhead Press - 20# + bar
Bent Over Lat Raises - 10s
Lateral Raises - 10s <-- Couldn't finish my reps on these; eventually worked down to 8s!!
Upright Row - 20# + bar
DB Front Raises - 10s
Rope Tricep Pushdowns - 50#
Cable Overhead Tricep Extensions - 30# <-- wow...
DB Tricep Extensions - 15#
Close Grip Bench Press - 30# + bar
Dips - 10, 7, 7 <-- My triceps were dead...
CARDIO: 30 min. HIIT, treadmill

Very true!! Yes I like the plan, although it's super hard! Yes I have the HIIT intermixed w/ weights... brings the intensity of the workout to a whole new level!!

That totally sucks that your ipod was stolen. However, it's fun getting new things lol. I thought my old ipod nano was stolen at the gym so I bought a new one. A few months later I put on an old vest that I hadnt worn in a really long time, and guess what was in the pocket... my old ipod LOL
Way to work hard Karina. I love that you push yourself to the absolute max! You are doing A LOT of exercises How long does your workout take?
OMG I laughed at your scale situation. I am the exact same as you. I hate it when the battery runs out --> eyeballing sucks. Most of the times I've actually made a trip to the store to buy new batteries lol
Because I am slow and forgetful, where are you going in December?
