Respectable Weight
Gents,
What is generally regarded as respectable weights to lift for the key exercises? At some point, no matter how big or small you are, if you can handle x amount of weight on a given exercise, you are just a beast. So, what is the general consensus for that threshold?
Deadlift?
Squat?
Bench?
Shoulder Press?
Power Clean?
Incline Bench?
I'm just curious what qualifies as respectable outside of the military to see if the #s are higher or lower than inside the military.

IMHO there are too many variables like weight, hight, gender, experience levels, powerlifter, bodybuilder, etc. to have a straight awnser.
I think its more respectable to have proper form than to have a heavy weight

Having good form goes without saying....the reason I ask is I see a lot (probably at least 75% of the dudes on here) absolutely crush me in max lifts. It seems like everyone benches 405, squats over 500, and deadlifts 500+. I'm a little dude (5'6"-5'7" and 164 or so sopping wet) but I can hold my own here at our FOB's gym, but apparently I'd be a chump back in the states.

Nice link. Apparently I'm a chump in deadlift and power clean, but okay in the others.

Deadlift: 500
Squat: 455
Bench: 365
Shoulder Press: 275
Power Clean: same as deadlift?
Incline Bench: 325
In my opinion.

There are lifting stats, and then there are e-stats. The two are not the same thing

Anything below 800 is deemed poor....
J/K, as someone mentioned, quality form on these lifts is more respectable rather than bending oneself out of shape to hoik some OTT weight about for the sake of it...
End of the day if your beating your own PB on these lifts than thats definatly respectable IMO.

Beating pour PB can be the only way, just to many variables. People throw numbers around way to often, seems like the people with no photos or vids say their all around 190-230lb Bench 405 and sqaut 500,anyone can be ronnie colman behind a computer screen

Remember that even the novice on that chart is for somebody who has been lifting for 3-9 months.

OP, inside/outside of the military doesn't mean crpa. You'll find guys who are good in the military, and not. There are cardio weenies, and there are bench n' curl weenies. There are guys who only care about their bench, tehre are those who only care about leg press, there are those who are into crossfit, and some into bodybuilding. The military is just an occupation for a general population. Don't expect numbers to be exceedingly different, than if you just went to a random city.

That chart is often criticised for the numbers being too low & I have to agree. I think adding 10% to the lifts would make it nearly spot on.

Here at our FOB, I'm probably one of the top 5-10 strongest dudes...and probably one of the top 3 strongest dudes when you take into account bodyweight. I'm one of the smaller guys but put up weight that is around the same as the land mammals walking around. But, like I said, looking at people's lifting stats on here, I'd estimate being in the bottom 25% strength wise. Lots of dudes are putting up over 400 on bench, 500 on deadlift, and apparently, lots of dudes are getting ready to compete in bodybuilding competitions.
But, what I was trying to get at with my original question is at what point does someone in your gym (regardless of size) put up a particular amount on a certain lift, and you (being a trained individual) think to yourself "not bad". For example, here at our FOB, our ops officer will max on deadlift at 500lbs. When he gets ready to lift that, the whole gym stops and everyone watches.

^^^ I certainly wouldn't say lots of people here are putting up over 400lb on bench (raw & actually doing a full bench press).
Btw why is your squat so much higher than your deadlift?

wow, that is a pretty big disparity right there.
To answer your follow up/clarification OP. I'm not sure, it all just depends. If I see lots of weight on a bar, I'll stop to take note. To see if the lifter is ego lifting, or actually doing it. If they are a smaller person, and strong in general, but especially for their size, I'll definitely think it is good.
But really I think most people get impressed, when it is something near their own max or they can't do. Because as you become jaded to something, the novelty has worn off, and you aren't awestruck by it.

Because when I squat, grip has nothing to do with it. I posted a question a few days ago about how to train to increase your grip...so I've barely started implementing grip training into my routine. My grip gives out on anything above my max, even when I have more than enough drive through my legs to get the weight up. I never use straps, although at Chazzy's recommendation, I ordered some and am going to start incorporating the use of straps on my heaviest sets of deads.
My quads are disproportionately large compared to the rest of my body, my back is my weakest muscle group, and I have been doing squats since I was 14 and started doing deadlifts...oh about February of this year.

Exactly why a lot of factors come into it.My squats way higher than my deadlift, i can rep 455 for ten easy but my deadlift on about 475, and its not my back thats an issue 315 bent over rows is a walk in the park

Since he's an oly lifter, maybe for him. Maybe. Definitely not the norm, though.

i personally consider anyone who can bench 5 reps with his body weight, squat 5 reps with 1.5*his body weight, and deadlift 5 reps 2*his body weight strong.

This is kind of what I was looking for. Just in everyone's personal opinion, what is the threshhold you have for strength numbers.

Maybe it's just cause I work out at a large university gym, but I can only bench 180x5, squat 200x5, and deadlift 225x5, and I am very clearly stronger than 90% of everyone else at the gym.
Add in that my weight is now down to 138 (estimate ~3-4 more pounds before I have a six pack, apollo's belt starting to show through but I got still got a bit of fat right on top of the bottom "fourpack"), and I am personally quite proud of those numbers, which are all staying up on my cut. By Christmas my goal is a solid 225 1 rep on bench, deadlift my weak point is my grip, I do it strapless & overhanded, gotta work on better grip, can easily lift more strapped, and I want a 225x5 squat. I guess by the ExRx chart that'd make me well on my way to advanced.
Of course, in internet bodybuilding land, all these jokers would laugh at those numbers and call me weaker than hell. I'd have to say I'm impressed with similar numbers to those Vadjio posted.
