Work/Nutrition balance

I just wanted to get some opinions on how to structure my work schedule and nutrition. Here's my situation: I work 3, 12 hour shifts a week 7pm to 7am. This makes it very hard for me to get on a normal sleep cycle or eating cycle because I am a nurse... it gets very busy at times. I can't always stop and eat every 3 hours.

Any good suggestions on good foods to take to work. I'm not a huge fan of reheating foods. I like everything from fish to beef protein wise. I supplement with protein shakes at minum post-workout.

Anyway... i feel silly for posting this because I am probably smart enough to figure this out. Just looking for outside opinions to work something out. Anyone else work overnights?

There's no need to eat every 3 hours. Eating frequent meals is really only beneficial to those who can't eat all of their daily food in a few big meals. This is generally only an issue for those bulking with already high metabolism.

If you're hungry between big meals, either

-a protein bar as suggested above if you're lacking protein elsewhere in your diet, or beef jerky (easy to make with a food dehydrator)
-Raw vegetables; celery, carrot, if you're looking for low calorie
-Fruits
-Nuts, if you're lacking fats in your diet

I used to work overnights; I had a substantial meal before and was usually able to get through the night (only 8 hours though) without a meal.
