Cardio in response to a cheat.
Just had a cheat turn mild binge (600cals over maint turned into 1300cals over maint). I am now satisfied, however, I also want to put in some extra effort with cardio now.
This morning was legs day for lifting. Would it be a bad idea to do cardio 12hours after legs day, or does it matter?
(NOTE: Normally in response to threads like these I say something like "Get over it, enjoy it, get back on the horse tomorrow and don't look back". However, that's easier said than done).

As most have said, a single day like that won't matter. Now if you do that on a daily basis you're going to be in a bulk.

Hello my friend: Well what are you worrying about? 1300 calories over regular diet daily calories is still a cheat-meal, but not a binge-eating at all. A compulsive crazy binge-eating meal like the ones we have on Christmas Dinner, News Years eve dinner or thanksgiving dinner has around between 6,000 to 12,000 calories.
1300 little calories will not even add you an extra pound of body-weight. In order to gain 1 complete pound, you would have to eat around 3000 calories extras over your regular daily intake of food.
However you might have gained some water-weight, etc. so yeah you can do extra cardio and extra sets in the weight-room for about 1 or 2 weeks, until you mentally feel good.

While I don't think what you did will affect you too badly(my cheat days regularly go over 4000+ cals, and I still weight 130 lbs). However, as a matter of principle, I think going that much over how much you planned on doing(about 600 cals) was, simply put, a mistake. I know, we're all human, we're not supposed to judge, blah blah blah, sorry, but the fact is you made a plan and blew it. I'm not saying I haven't done it(I know I once finished over half a box of Honeycomb cereal, a whole bag of low fat popcorn, half a bag of salt and vinegar chips, and 20 marshmallows with almond butter to dip), but I have learned eventually just say NO MORE. Nothing wrong with the occasional binge, as long as it's a controlled binge.

Yeah your ok man, we all need to have that day to eat whatever, if we ate clean and was so thoughtful about everything we ate, we would drive ourselves crazy, now if you ate two large pizzas, or 5 big macs, that may be a problem, but i wouldnt worry about it. You prolly burned it off in your sleep.

Again, it's all good...
How about regular cardio? I run for 30mins every morning so if I go eat an extra 600cals i'll still be in a defecit, a good one also... Upto you.

If it would make you feel less guilty. Go run for 30 minutes on the treadmill.... then go do 30 minutes on a stationary bike, followed by 15 minutes on the rowing machine.
That'll burn most of it off.

I'm not a big fan of viewing food in a reward/punishment kind of way.
As long as it's just that one day, move on. Just remember how you feel now the next time you want to do it again.
