I just want to be fit and look good and be relatively stronger than what I am now, size is not an issue for me as long as I end up feeling, looking better and healthier. So no, I don't 'need' big muscles and don't care if I end up ripped or not, but I do have strong admiration for the discipline it takes, it's alot tougher for women to get ripped then to just look 'fit'.

Sometimes a week off is good. I would ice the shoulder, try to sleep on your back, and a little massage couldn;t hurt either.
I'm ready girl!

I've had to take 8 weeks off so far on my left shoulder due to a big tear in the deltiod. However, I continue to do bis and tris, so I'm pretty content.

Hello
Hello everyone... long time no type... How's everyone doing here in the Big Muscles thread?
Personally, things are looking up for me and I'm happily back at home now and looking forward to September. Training is picking up where it left off, albeit slowly... but that's all right. I'm just happy life is settling back into some sense of normalcy.
Anyway, I hope you all have been doing well and are making steady progress toward your goals!

normalcy...I would say that is contageous too! Life in this part of the world is starting to shape. I am getting stuff done ready for winter (looking for, cutting and splitting wood) as well as making the house my own (not STBE's). Kids in school, finishing home gym in basement.
Training has been something everyweek but not totally consistant. Gave up the thought of competiting in Oct/Nov and focusing on preparing for March/April (I should be able to put some size on) a bit frustrated cuz i can lift the heavy weights and continue to go up but the size is not there. AND i'm not asking for much size just not easy to put on for women! (naturally)
Hope everyone in this thread and others is getting back to a normal life or at least a better one than we were having earlier......take care!

Hey everyone!
I've been gone for a long freaking time. Missed one month of gym time due to crazy travel schedule (2 weeks), then 2 weeks of a very sick husband.. got in ONE DAY before losing ANOTHER month to Swine Flu that turned into pneumonia. UGH. Not sick anymore, but my lungs and throat are still trashed. Also put on 20 lbs due to lack of thyroid meds and not being able to swallow much other than mushy (and carbby) foods.
So, I'm back onto the road to BIG muscles. Not as set back as I thought - did my entire Monday workout all the way through, didn't wuss out at all, and did everything same or better than last time. May have actually raised my 1 rep max on the bench, will check in a few mins. Woo!
So, though 5am came WAY earlier than I remember, and we both *almost* quit after the first few sets, the fire was relit and I went back to my macho self and had to try outlifting hubby on everything / outdoing my previous, etc. LOL. I'll probably be avoiding stairs the rest of the day (my hams HATE me now), but other than that, gotta say - feeling good!! Missed this!

Thanks!! Will try to catch up on posts over the next while, would love to see how everyone's doing!
ps: yes, I went up 3lbs on my 1 rep on the bench. Better yet, my last 1 rep (120) was obtained through a few reps at something else. I did 120 for 2 reps today! woo! I know, it's probably a teeny number for most people here, but it's way better than the "just the bar" that I was struggling with less than a year ago!
pps. Actually, on the subject of that... a question for everyone. Is 180 too unreasonable a goal for shoulder press? What kinda numbers are you guys posting for that? I have NO idea what's normal or average!

Fat? I don't think so. You still look nice and shapely with those big muscles of yours girl. Glad that you are back to training.

You have no idea what is normal or average because you are extraordinary and special. Go ahead and be unreasonable! Set the bar high!

Wow, after reading through some of the more recent posts here, I'm almost glad to see that I'm not the only one who had a crazy summer in terms of training (or the lack thereof)! Glad to see everyone's getting their focus and/or health back again, though--it's turning cooler outside, it's time to train!!
Oh, and before I forget: I found this on Youtube last night. Awesome, awesome, awesome! Totally inspirational for me and I thought you guys might enjoy it too!
