Competition spray tans vs Dream tan for dark skin

Hi Everyone! I will be competing in my first show this September and I was hoping to get some opinions about tanning for black skin. I've searched through the threads and read about Dream Tan which I have already purchased but I was wondering if the spray tans offered at the shows are a better alternative?

Has anyone with a dark complexion tried this and do they work as well as Dream Tan? I'm just wondering because the spray tan is airbrushed so I think the application would be more even and I'm concerned that I won't do a good job the day of the show with the Dream tan. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hey there,
I have competed but also have done make-up for girls back stage, I would recommend the spray tan just because its less stress and it goes on very even and looks fantastic on darker complexions. If you get a good company they can mix a color for your skin tone.

If you decide to use the dream tan, practice applying it before the show and you should be fine.

What org are you competing in? Dream Tan can look very sparkly, and NPC judges generally do not like it. You are better off with one coat of spray like Jan Tana. Ronnie Coleman, Darrem Charles, Silvio Samuel and Johnnie Jackson are a few of the darker complected IFBB Pro competitors who use Jan Tana.

Thank you both for the replies! I'm competing with the WBFF in two weeks.
