Heck no! At least, not to me, since that's what motivates me too Since we're both in the "short" club, we have to be tough, or people don't take us seriously!
That's what bugs me--when I tell people I want to get really strong and they put limits on me....I'm like, NO, I'm NOT accepting YOUR limits....

Exactly! I don't think people are going to start taking us seriously after we reach our bodybuilding goals. But whatever, we have something to prove and we usually end up mentally tough because we're viewed as the weakest of the weak.
Limits. My old trainer put limits on me. Limits suck. I don't want to be a "pet".

My wife must be more in touch with her animal nature than most women, because she likes 'em huge. Not necessarily the bodybuilder type, but NFL linebacker huge.
Not that you asked, but Jessica Biel is close to my ideal of the perfect woman; she is not only muscular but somewhat tall which I find to be an almost irresistible combination. However, as long as you're natural I don't think there's any such thing as "too big" - the only women I really find to be too masculine looking are Renee Toney and Jana Linke-Sippl, and even then, I'm impressed with their achievement.

[QUOTE=digitalbath11;364864201]I have such a HARD time gaining muscle (body type ecto), and although I've seen great improvements since January, I seriously DREAM to have Jessica Beil's body, perhaps even more muscular.
Earlier this week at the gym, I was waiting for a woman to finish her set on the pec fly machine, because I wanted to do rear delts. She told me I could work in with her, because I was so small, that I probably did the same weight as she did. However, I can do at least twice as much weight (I think she was doing 40 lbs, where I can do 80 lbs). I smiled and thanked her. However, I was so sad that I'm still looking frail enough for those kinds of assumptions. Sigh.[/QUOTE
Girl I get that all the time. If there is something in the office to move such as a desk, they don't even ask me to help and when I offer to help move something they say I might hurt myself. The sad thing is that when they do let me help I prove them wrong and see them struggling to lift the dang desk!!!

You'll get you're muscles and he'll get over it lol!
I always feel so lucky that my husband is "into" muscular physiques in women! He said that he doesn't think I could get "too big" for his taste with out the help of steroids! I love it!

Funny thing: men seem to want to get bigger than women want them to be, and women want to get smaller than men want them to be. Seems like the diet and training of straight people is more to impress the same sex than the opposite sex!

this is EXACTLY it. there's something really wrong with the world cause there's no benefit to impressing the same sex "unless this is your sexual orientation" except bragging rights.

I remember watching her in the Olympics, wishing I could be like her. I couldn't believe what she lifted for her weight. That should have inspired me to start then, instead of waiting.

Haha yeah I get similar things. We were camping and had to move a marine battery out of our camper and my grandmother when and asked my uncle to do it as if I wasn't capable after I told her I could do it (I would have picked it up and done it while she was gone but I didn't know where the battery was.)
And my FH is ok with muscles, luckily he doesn't think it's manly. This lady Jodi Miller goes to our gym http://tour.ftvideo.com/content/gene...e3895a4f6d.jpg and he says he wouldn't have a problem with me looking like her.

Okay that is so weird...i think my coworker used to date her!! I would actually love to train with her for a show.
I came to the conclusion today that even though i am not a skinny minnie I can hold my own and lift a lot of heavy weights. Plus i would rather be 5'3" 125lbs with 9% bodyfat then 5'3" 105lbs with 1% bodyfat!
I am lucky that my BF likes muscular women too. I have dated a few guys that didn't like it...those relationships didn't turn out too well.
I will also use my man hero Mark Rippetoe who describes those women who are afraid to get bulky women who are already pretty bulky and are actually afraid to get off their butts and into shape.
I look at women like Melanie roach and i think "i would love to look like her and lift like her!" Weather they are powerlifters, bodybuilders/figure athletes, olympic lifters or otherwise i just find strong lifting women to be so attractive and i wish more people did too.

Yeah I feel totally lucky that my husband thinks muscle on women is hot! I know so many women with insecure BF's or husbands that just want them to be skinny fat! What does it say about you as a man? I like my women weak, and I want them to look that way too!

I believe that men should be stronger than women.
That is not the same as saying that women should be weak.
Boys, if your woman is stronger than you, time to get your flabby arse into the gym! You're pathetic!
Well, unless you're married to Chen Wei-Ling. Then maybe we can forgive you for not being stronger than your woman. The other 2 billion or so adult males on the planet have no excuse.

Haha that's cool! I've always wanted to approach her but I'm so intimidated and she's always busy working out at the gym (duh!) and I don't want to interfere. It was interesting to go into the gym everyday watching her lean our for a show though. She starts out lean and it was amazing how much more lean she got! I just realized you don't really live that far from me!

All I'm saying is that if you as a guy are into "skinny fat" and freak out if your wife puts on an ounce of muscle then you're pretty insecure and pathetic... and yeah, is she's stronger then you and you don't like it then get your butt in the gym!

Just thought I would add my story as it seems appropriate for this topic.
I am a newbie very interested in reading the interesting posts on this forum and learning more.
I ordered some protein powder online the other day and my sister in law asked me what I bought. When I replied 'Protein Powder' she responded 'Eeeewww, dont get too big'...
My dear... Im between a size 6 and 8 skinny fat... somehow I dont think im going to get 'big' anytime soon.
Got to love people with narrow minds (NOT).

Yeah, just get used to that. Seems like a lot of the "uninitiated" think that protein powder and creatine are steroids.

i can explain the manlyness comments bout jessica biel
I think jessica's body is hot BUT i have to say, having a similar body type (but not in shape right now), I *DO* feel (and get told) I look a bit 'manly' sometimes - I think its because we're 5'7+, and my shoulders & upperbody are more toned than my lower body.... so maybe its not necessarily that her(our) arms/shoulders are manly, its just that they're trimmer and when compared to our more feminine shapes elsewhere look 'manly'.
I'm not saying I thnk she's manly... I'm just voicing my insecurites & possibly providing an explanatioin for some others.
P.S. disregard all my spelling errors. im typing fast because I'm supposed to be doing homework

She does have a rocking bottom!
Her bottom makes me feel okay that mine isn't tiny and little but shapely and toned (at least least getting toned).
After a crazy day of training yesterday and having my BF and out workout buddy impressed with my ability to flip a huge tire 200ft I came to the conclusion that even if my arms look "bigger" then they did before and even if my legs aren't super skinny i wouldn't change it for anything.
I love the feeling of being able to do chin ups on rings, rope climbing, car pulling and all other sorts of crazy lifting stuff.
And i agree with what everyone has said here about guys being insecure. BF and our training partner are both very secure with their abilities to lift heavy and gain muscle and they LOVE women that can lift a lot. I got lucky when i found a guy that likes me with more muscle...he has never once said to me "don't get too manly".
Although there was one day where he commented that my upper arms were getting bigger. As a girl i took this as "wow you are getting manly or fat" but in response to my defensiveness he said "no, i meant that in a good way...it means you are putting on muscle and working hard at the gym. You are doing a great job". For some reason even a woman like me is afraid to hear the words "bigger" when it comes to my body...

This has made my afternoon! Hilarious.... Jessica's body is amazing.... I think we have to train to get the BODY we want.... my weight training routine freaks out lots of my friends, and boys, well considering they already comment on my height (5ft 11' and the fact that I have short hair) doing weights is just adding to the list of THEIR insecurities... but I do get it often.
I would love to strut on the beach looking like jessica with a bit more definition... bring on summer!!
