It fixes a bug in the Regimen Forecaster area where dietary fat was being counted as having only 4 Calories per gram when it has 9 Calories per gram. Thanks goes to pentjack for reporting it.
While I was fixing the other problem in this same section where unusually high macronutrient needs were being displayed when you had Joules set as your energy unit, due to a conversion issue in the mechanics. I had accidentally broke the functions that calculate dietary fat grams. This occurred when I had copied the new functions into the part for fat grams, and I had forgotten to switch the 4 for a 9. This is now fixed. I have pulled v1.5 down so others could download the current bug fix version of it.

Hey great calculator mate. I am slightly confused though, is the 'eating at maintenance' what i should be eating to maintain my weight and then the calorie requirements at the bottom are extra needed per weeks for weight gain? Another stupid is, what is the thermogenesis percentage exactly? Sorry, one more, whats the metabolism rating percentage?
Granted quite a few of the fields i was unable to fill in as i did not know the amounts.
Thanks in advance,

Thanks.
The figure for "When Eating At Maintenance" is what you need to maintain your weight.
Then the Calorie requirements that show (based on four scenario levels) after entering a Calorie intake or a Calorie balance are what you need to:
Gain weight - if you entered a Calorie intake above maintenance or entered a positive Calorie balance
Lose weight - if you entered a Calorie intake below maintenance or entered a negative Calorie balance

|
It's the percentage by which your body dissipates off excess Calories as heat such as through non-shivering, non-exercise adaptive, etc. thermogenesis.

The Metabolic Rating is the overall speed rating of metabolism.
RegiTracker, a body composition tracker that I finished this past week which tracks your metabolism over time, shows a Metabolic Grade (in percentage) which indicates current state of your metabolism.

I'm fixing to start working on the next version of TMF.
Do you guys have any feature requests?

a section of calories burned through swimming would be cool instead of estimating it and putting it in the extra calories burned section
also i do hiit with weights well with my body weight such as squats and pushups and lunges but in an hiit kind of format. I dont know if that was very clear but as there is no MPH to that i cant input that part of my workout into the program.

I'll add a section for that.

These fall under calisthenics. So, in that section, you would log the total length of time, per session, that you do these. There is a menu for intensity level. Since you're doing this in a HIIT kind of format, you would select Intense. As with the weight-lifting, don't include rest periods as part of the length of the workout.

Hey,
Also a little explanation of activity levels because i am not to sure which to put for my activity level outside of exercise (sedentary, lightly active, etc), that would be cool if could be implemented. And yeah the cals burned during sport would be good if at all possible?
Thanks in advance

For explanations of activity levels, there is a separate document for this titled as "Occupational Activity Guide."
For the sports, I will try to implement a separate section for this.

I don't right now. I've just gotten back into an exercise routine last month, though not weight-lifting. Due to issues I've struggled with for the last 6 years (up until early this year), I hadn't been able to stick with any kind of workout routine.

So far, here's what I've done for the upcoming version:
I added a section for organized sports into the exercise part at the request of eric91 and crafty100.
I have divided the exercise part into three sections with each of them labeled as:
Aerobic Exercise
Anaerobic Exercise
Organized Sports
I added a new parameter to the sugar-substitutes section where you select an amount. The selections in the menu are:
Low, Moderate, High, Only From Supplements
The area of the program that has been referred to as the extended parameters area will no longer be labeled as Extended Parameters. It will now be labeled as Auxiliary Parameters.
In the User Info area, I added a new section where you can enter body measurements in order to get a body fat calculation. This is if you do not know your body fat percentage off hand. In this section, you will first select a body fat % calculation method. Next, you will enter the required inputs for that given method. The following fields are:
Waist Size, Wrist Size, Neck Size, Hip Size
The display for Calories burned/day by exercise and total activity factor has been modified.

I almost have the next version completed.
All that I need to do is port to Open Office and update the documents.
For the last several days, I've been adding new pics (for the new sections) and optimizing the sizing of the existing ones to get the filesize of the program smaller.

The new version of Total Metabolism Forecaster is now ready.
The following is all of the changes that were done. Some new things were added.
09/12/09 - Version 1.501 to Version 1.6
--------------------------------------
* In the Standard Parameters area:
-In the exercise sub-area, a part for organized sports has been added.
-The exercise sub-area is now divided into separate parts each pertaining to type of exercise.
-The display for Energy Burned Per Day From Exercise On Average and Total Activity Factor has been modified.
* In the Extended Parameters area:
-This area will now be labeled as Auxiliary Parameters.
-For the sugar-substitutes section, I added a parameter where you can select the overall amount.
* Metabolism area:
-There was a minor bug where the gauges for Actual Energy Balance would glitch if you entered an intake or energy balance that equaled out to a small energy surplus or deficit. This is now fixed.
-The way the label for Thermogenic Effect Of Food changes had some modifications done to it.
* In the program in general:
-In the User Info area, I added a new section where you can have your body fat percentage calculated if you do not know it off hand. In this section, you select the calculation method, and you enter the required body measurements for that given method.
-I added pictures for the new sections, changed some pictures for some of the existing sections, and optimized the sizing for most of the existing one to keep the program size down.
-A few other changes and fixes

Thanks Robby!
I have been tracking your forecaster for some time now. Your work has been excellent. Thank you very much!
I have just tested out the newest version. It worked beautifully! I have a question about the "aerobic exercise" When I entered cycling total miles per week, a red remark "MISS" popped up above the cell. What does that mean?
Thanks again. Keep up the good work!

It essentially means that you missed an input, meaning that the value you entered is a number out of range or isn't a number.

Which version are you using? Excel, Excel 2007+, or Open Office?

The newest version is 1.6, which I put up yesterday.

You need:
Microsoft Excel 2000+ for the "MS Excel" version
Microsoft Excel 2007+ for the "MS Excel 2007+" version
Open Office 3.0 or later for the "OO.org" version
Screen Resolution of at least 1280x1024

I don't right now. I've just gotten back into an exercise routine last month, though not weight-lifting. Due to issues I've struggled with for the last 6 years (up until early this year), I hadn't been able to stick with any kind of workout routine.
