Just picked up the new Tauraus 709 (slim)
Put 200 rds of WWB through it with no malfuncations. Accuracy at 30 feet was very good and the gun feels great. It looks like this is going to be my new primary carry gun.

Cool man looks good.
Got a holster for it yet? Is it small enough to pocket carry?

no holster yet. I guess you could pocket carry in a pinch, but I think it is just a tad to big for that. I am on the hunt for a holster now.

I am not really a fan of any firearms manufacturer, I have owned guns from just about all of them. They all produce some guns that are good and some that are crap. I just happen to like the design of this gun and so far it seems to be functioning great. I will say that I think with Taurus you end up getting a lot of gun for the money, and if it breaks well they will make it right with their lifetime warranty.

Ive been dealing with their lifetime warranty bull****. 6 tries to get a set of ****ing guide rod springs. I dont know how hard it is to understand. I mean, 6 times, come on. Then i get some ass that gives me the run around saying "well I sent the right part..." and me replying "whatever part you sent doesnt work in the gun" over and over. Then I leave a voicemail for the manager, and nothing.

Why is it that in so many gun pictures there is some kind of object placed in the trigger guard? Is it supposed to be for scale?

Just to hold the gun up for a better view.
I don't have any problems with Taurus but I've heard horrible things about their (non-existent) customer service.

They are (or were, as it may turn out) at least trying to send me the right parts but theyve failed. I remember getting this girl and thinking I finally had someone with their head not up their butt, when she said she would just send me the guide rod spring set. I thought it would be sweet to finally get my gun functioning, but no, she send the guide rods. Ive even had a spring that was supposed to be the inner guide rod spring, but it was about 5 inches long and wider than the outer guide rod spring.

I'm one as well. I have a full size 24/7 pro in 9mm that I've never had a single problem with - despite what people on the internet would have you believe, that all are junk. It's since been replaced as my bed side /main range shootin' gun, by a Sig 226 in 9mm, but it's still a great gun that I like to shoot.

Yup, until it gives me a reason not to trust my life with it, I will continue to use it.

i once saw a man get shot 8 times in the head by a taurus and he didnt die. he was shot 1 final time by a man with a glock wearing a wolf shirt and exploded.
this proves that tauraus builds an inadequate weapon, whilst also proving the power of a glocks and wolf shirts.

That's because the glock exploded not being able to fire reloaded ammo, the fragments delivered the fatality. The wolf shirt is like kevlar, the only reason the glock owner is alive

ya know, it's actually not bad in person. The main reason I bought it is because it fits my needs perfectly, it is going to be very easy to carry concealed.

on a side note.... im not a taurus owner, but a week ago at the range, a friend of a friend that was shooting with us brought one of those taurus wanna be beretta 92's. this one had a frame mounted safety (like a 1911) and adjustable target sights.
it worked flawlessly with WWB, federal american eagle, and blazer brass. it also would shoot a ragged hole at 20 yds (sorta like my beretta). The trigger was pretty decent too. she put about 200 rds through the gun that night. the only sorta downside about the gun was that it did not have a decocker, the safety was just that, a safety. if you wanted to decock you had to lower the hammer manually.
the gun was fairly neglected, and it showed. it appeared that some of the parts on the gun were just not as nice as the real thing, though. the trigger had some sort of cheasy gold plating on it, and the safety also looked to be cheaply made/finished. i didnt get into the guts of the gun to see how those looked. she said she had never cleaned it though, because she didnt know how to that made me a sad panda so i showed her how to disassemble the gun, it was dark outside, though, so i couldnt really see if the locking block and all the other guts looked good or not.
oh.. it also wouldnt take my 92 mags?

I have owed quite a few Taurus's and never had any problems. Currently I have the PT1911 and PT140 (my primary concelled carry). I like them allot. It's all a matter of what a person perfers.

I want the PT1911, local gun shop has one for $599...and it's calling my name.
Last time I was there I could have sworn it said "Buy me bitch"
