Taking supplements for vascularity before going onstage?
What do you think of taking supplements such as either NOXplode or Xpand before going onstage, to improve vascularity? Could even provide a good energy boost for posing. Has anyone done this? What do you think?
Thanks!!

I pondered the same thing since last week i lost to a guy that was freaky vascular in the masters division. i had him on just about every other point (IMO) ... size, symmetry, we even had the same level of definition, just he was so stupid veiny it was sick looking. Mine was a little flat. My geeky science friend told me to ... 1) drop all caffeine and stimulants at least 36 hours prior, add some NO2, take a bunch of honey in right before prejudging ... I did all that and not a notable difference, but it can't hurt.

probably not the best time to be experimenting,..But behind stage about 5 minutes to posing I nip on a couple pieces of Dark Chocolate. For me I can feel it in my blood,..but maybe it's just placebo.

The simple answer is ... what does it do to you when you take it and time how long after before you see the greatest effect on vasularity. Then use that as a base line for show time. Another experiment you might try is take a niacin pill and time it's effectiveness on you as well. If positive use them both and see if there's a synergistic effect and again note how long it takes to be effective ... if at all. Everyone responds to different stims a little different so it's hard to nail one answer. Even with this there's no guarantee that it will have the exact same effect as it did when you were experimenting, but I think it's your best bet to try a few things before or in the gym in your last couple weeks and note it's effects.
Personally I'm thinking of an NO stim and niacin combo. Anyone else tried this?

I took NaNO Vapor about 35-45 minutes before going on stage, and to be honest I didnt really feel that it influenced how I looked very much at all. I've done that with some broken pieces of rice cakes dipped in peanut butter and chocolate coating on top of that. I think it was all a little overboard and next time I will probably just stick to a few Reeses Cups. The combination of NaNO Vapor and that other concoction made my stomach a little uneasy.

I know what you mean ... after I did my first big cut for just going on vacation I had a 1/4 of a saralee cheese cake and 30min-1h later I could barely walk through the airport (crazy painful stomach cramps). This time I think I'll just stick to pasta but I've never had a stomach issue with any NO stim.

I agree! Symmetry, conditioning, and muscularity is what you are judged on, not vascularity. So you should focus on those the weeks leading into the show, and not try and do something that could mess up the things that really matter.
Personally, I think water helps bring out vascularity. Water!

I competed recently and a competitor was just sweating to death in the pump up room, odd to me as every other bodybuilder was dehydrated from diuretics. this guy was very vascular and may make me change my pre-contest water thoughts..he won..
Niacin used about 20 ish minutes PRIOR to pumping up is the best vasodialator I know, it has to be the flushing type as there are 2 types flushing and non-flushing. Try about 250-500 mgs about a week out and time your "flush" you will get very hot and red, but the veins will be there! This is the key ingredient in Nano Vapor, so save money and just get Niacin. Gl Train hard! BTW I was literally disqualified as the head judge said after that my arms were too big !! LOL what a joke! 230lbs 21 1/2 " contest, 5'9".chat later bros..
