Is it psychologically good to eat a bit of pizza once a week?
Hello all: I would like to know if it's psychologically good to break from our diets once a week and to eat like a sandwich, a Mcdonalds meal or a couple of slices of pizza or a piece of cake once a week instead of dieting for 1 or 2 straight months without eating any junk food? I say this because I've noticed that when i am dieting for many weeks eating the boring and dull low calorie vegetables and diet foods i tend to get depressed and chronically bored.
So i would like to know if it's positive to eat a bit of cake or a 2 slices of pizzas once a week in order not to get bored and depressed from the low calorie diet.

You should have searched around...It's called the CHEAT meal...Once a week, or so, is good, it keeps you on the healthy LIFESTYLE. Instead of BINGES you have CHEATS. It's wonderful really..pick one day a week, and have the cheat..the rest of the week, stick to it...I eat za quite a bit for mine..****in' love the za.

Just make sure your cheat doesn't exceed your weekly deficit...
Also, why not work 'junk' into your daily diet? I do, it's really not that hard as long as you're willing to watch portion size.

A cheat meal every now and then won't hurt =]
I don't think one should limit himself up to the point of having dreams and hallucinations about some food, once a week sounds alright.

If you make it yourself you can use non-fat cheese and other healthier ingredients. Won't feel like cheating at all imo. Especially since you don't need grease on a nonstick pan. Just take it off the pan when it's done so it doesn't start to cling while cooling(nonstick isn't perfect).

If it keeps you sane, do it. Moderation is key with any food in any diet. I do have a cheat meal at once a week, usually saturday night and will have some B & J ice cream or some other treat I don't permit myself to have during the week.

I'll have a cheat meal whenever I crave one. I am used to eating healthy now so I rarely ever crave having a cheat meal. I only have a cheat meal and never a cheat day though. I make sure not to go over my calorie budget if I choose to have a cheat meal.

Hell yes it is. I firmly believe that a cheat meal should be psychologically mandatory. I know it keeps me in check with what I am trying to achieve. I miss pizza and won tons, but once a week I get to pseudo indulge these. I lets me remember they are not totally banned from my life, they are a treat.
