I pay $12.49 per month at the ymca right now bc I signed up while I was unemployed. But yeah usually the y is about $50/month I would never pay that, I've never paid more than $30/month for a gym membership in the 11 years I've been working out, although sometimes I have had to sign long contracts like you did. I might get on the family plan with my roomates when my special rate is up or switch gyms. Also what if Peak went out of business in the next 2 years? You might get screwed, it wouldn't surprise me but I hope not.

I know the Peak fitness gyms around here (Raleigh) went belly up.
We had a flood of peak fitness people flow into my gym.. (Lifestyle Family Fitness)
