3500ish calories wiht a budget of $70/wk possible?
So here's my situation. Im going back to school soon and am moving into an off campus house. This gives me an opportunity to plan out all my meals since I dont have a meal plan.
My budget allows for about $70 a week for food. Is it possible to get around 3500-4000 calories a day? I plan on doing BBB workout but I can't unless I can afford to get that many calories in me.
I was thinking a diet of:
meal 1:
3 eggs, 2 pieces of wheat toast, 2 pieces of taylor ham, glass of milk
meal 2: sandwhich with turkey/swiss on wehat
meal 3: grilled chicken/brocoli/ workout shake(preworkout meal)
meal 4: 3 egg omelette with cheese post workout shake
meal 5: yogurt and peanuts or almonds
meal 6:casein shake and a few scoops of PB
I know I'm short calories looking for help to patch everything up under $70/wk

there's 16 cups in a gallon. 1% milk is 110 calories/cup. Milk prices can also vary significantly depending on where you live. where I am it's usually $1.70, so not bad. No idea where you got 1000 calories from. Random guess?
You want cheap calories? Peanut Butter, and Regular, plain oats. You can eat 2500 calories a day for around $2/day if you wish to be bored out of your mind, so just under $3 for 3500 calories if you go that route. Not that it's recommended. Though regular oats are awesome.

Big brah. You want to do this on the cheap you gotta get the cheapest cuts of meat available. Chicken thighs quickly come to mind. If you have a wal-mart with a grocery store you can also find good deals on frozen fish there (whiting). If you have a Winn-Dixie near by they are always running insane deals on all kinds of meat. Meat should be where you put your dollar.
From there get your eggs, oats, brown rice and your potatoes, your fruits and your vegetables are generally cheap if you shop smart. Get some good oils... fish oil, olive oil. If you have some money left over for yogurt and things like that, great. It's not gonna be the most awe inspiring diet but once you get established I think you can do fine on $70/week.

Eggs, milk, beans & rice are all cheap. For protein sources, start flipping through newspapers, clip coupons & find sales. Stock up when something is on sale. Talk to your mom about shopping frugally. She can teach you a thing or two about saving money.

DEF can do it
I am a college student and i know what its like to eat on a budget i eat about 4000 calories a day on about 75 bucks a week...
What i buy every week
Loaf of bread
pound of lunch meat
pound of cheese
Couple dozen eggs
Bagels
Oatmeal (i dont buy this every week maybe one a month)
Frozen veggies ( bag or two)
RICE RICE RICE
Chicken breast
Ground Beef (this is the money savor here like 3 bucks a pound for 93/7 lean and you get like 28 grams of protein per 4 oz so you dont miss out on any protein)
The only time i buy steaks are on sale and i can generally find a cut of steak on sale at least once a week
Generally my meals look something like
1- Couple of bagels PB
2- 6 Eggs and cup of Oats
3- Couple of turkey sandwiches (sometimes a PB sanwich) (3 and 4 switch too depends on when i workout but i like to have meal 4 after a workout)
4- Meat and Carbs generally chicken and rice or Ground beef and rice (about 8-10oz of meat and one cup of rice uncooked)
5- Same as meal 4 (normally i cook enough to eat the same meal twice)
6- This meal could always be anything from eggs to just a sandwich to cooking a chicken breast with some veggies or even a mass gain protein shake (ice cream, milk, heaving whipping cream, PB, anything to make it heavy)
I also follow my workouts with a protein shake so thats in there too whenever i work out
Hope it helped

Shop at Biglots... cans of tuna and kidneybeans are literally nothing(50 cents to 1$)... they also have ah... bumblebee wild alaskan salmon for 1-2$ a can at 90 cal x 7 servings = 630 calories per can @ 84g protein and lots of good fats.

Costco for frozen meat + fish.
Lots of tuna.
Buy the bread that's on sale.
White potatoes are much cheaper than sweet potatoes.
Other carbs like oatmeal, pasta, rice, etc., are pretty darn cheap.
Try not to spend money on stupid stuff like diet soft drinks / fancy low calorie dressings because you'll be hard pressed to reach your caloric goals spending 10 bucks a week on zero kcals.

So basically they are the opposite of literally nothing, being literally something...? (J/K)

make sure not to overdo the protein, i think thats one problem that makes peoples diets seem expensive.... i eat 2500-3000 cals a day on a cut for about 6 bucks a day as long as i dont go out and eat.... bulk isnt much more (well usually is because i eat out more and eat more junk) sometimes hitting 4000-5000 cals a day... i just keep my protein around 1g/lb no matter what... all these bros eating 2g/lb+ are pissing money away...
