Here he states that carbohydrates should be kept to less than 30 grams per day. Fat has no set range just take in moderately. Also protein has no set range but you should be taking in at least 15-50 gr/meal. Then every 3rd or 4th day you carb load. He states to not take in carbs before workout or afterwards.....just protein for muscle and fat for energy. This is also very important for growth hormone secretion and testosterone production. He states that when you do take in carbs it limits your growth hormone and testosterone after the workout, stating that if you do not take in carbs afterwards, just fat and protein that the testosterone levels will stay elevated for longer period of time. Now when I have researched further online i notice most people will state the exact opposite! Carbs are good for pre and post for both energy and to enhance hormones. Now who is right or what is the right way to go?? I am not into loosing any weight right now or cutting but I want to put on as much muscle (hopefully about 10lbs a year) in a clean way. It really easy for me to cut and all that but to get all that muscle on there quickly is very very though. So anyone got some insight for me or refer me to something further.
Clifs---
- book says carbs bad
- are carbs bad for hormones
Thanks guys!!

True a Keto like this will drive up hormone levels, to a greater degree. However the body will begin to down regulate the metabolism, dispite the carb up days, over time so the inhanced fat buring effects of this diet will come to a halt, generally for guys with a little excess around the mid section, or who use AAs, this diet works. For you, as you say, cutting is not a top priority go with complex carbs pre, and simple carbs + whey after your work out. The simple carbs [dextrose] will spike your Insulin [more anabolic then Test or HGH] and drive in the nutrients. Your levels of serum Test and HGH go down after you workout when you eat carbs is becuse they are driven into the muscles and aren't in your blood stream!!
So artilce right and wrong.
if you a tubster, go keto for a while
if your normal and natural stick with carbs, or kiss gains good bye.
