size/strength definitely gives an advantage. why do you think there are weight classes?
also, very few(and none on here) have the skill to overcome the difference in size/strength that there would be. a fairly big( LH+)pro fighter would obviously beat a bber.
kick his knee out :P

i love all these guys in here saying mucles/size doesnt matter in a fight, of course it does, which is a reason why they probably have different weight classes for fighting and such.

Well no ****. An MMA fighter trains to fight. That's like saying "I bet a bodybuilding could out lift an MMA fighter"

All this is a meaningless, to many variables to a fight to even predict the outcome. Fighting is pointless unless your defending yourself, grow up boys.

most anyone can fight. bbers are coordinated/athletic/big/strong. they have an advantage over anyone. takes a fair amount of skill to overcome the difference.
a punch from a middleweight isnt going to bring a middleweight down 99% of the time, let alone a super heavy. whats 150 lbs pulling on your arm when you can damn near curl it with one arm?

bodybvuilders are not fast n i doubt they would be able tyo throw a good punch sieng as how they can barely move

You wanna fight about it?

yeah i dont think someone who outweighs the opponent by 100lbs would be trying to stand up for long. wait until they get close, grab them, throw them down, gnp.
i think you are underestimating bodybuilders. they arent THAT slow.
also just to say. technique definitely plays a huge role and so does conditioning, but people act like bbers are at a disadvantage compared to normal people and are completely incapable of moving. size/strength certainly does help a lot.
lol @ saying bodybuilders can't throw a punch, like that would even matter....All they would have to do is grab any part of you and you are absolutley ****ed.
Have any of you ever been in a fight or at least some kind of grappling?

attacking the neck upwards is a no no man ...from you doing martial arts you should know how easy it is to kill someone with a blow to the neck.
And relationg to me fighting a bodybuilder a bottle will be pretty handy against him...or her :P
Yeh, i know how dangerous it is, and how easy it is to kill, which is why i mention pressure points, if you know them well enough, you could easily incapasitate anyone, btw, if a bodybuilder is on steroids, most of the time kicking them in the nuts is pointless because they wont feel, or they fell of ages ago. Best thing i can suggest is a weak point EVERY human has, the solar plexis, thats like the universal weak point, doesnt matter how much muscle you have, if you you get hit there, its like getting your balls stomped by an elephant except the pain is everywhere.

this, strong UFC fighters in here.
bb'ers are not slow lumbering clumsy stupid giants. they are still human. if you don't have at least a decent martial arts background and pretty heavy, you will snap.
a 120lb deuche with a couple years in taekwondo ain't gonna do sh*t against Ronnie

theyre not slow... yes, they weight 300 pounds, but thats like 100% pure muscle dude... and besides theyre heart is healthier than any of ours... im sure theyre pretty damn fast... they prolly wont have the same flexibility as us, but im sure they have some insane speed
Hmmm, well, considering i have 6 years of martial arts experience, i might stand a chance, im a 2nd degree black in Hapkido (not trying to brag). I dunno, i cant take on guys of all sizes, im 15 and i train with older younger men in their late 20's or mid 30's, so im kind of use to having odds raised against me, in fact we have a bodybuilder who joined 3 months ago, i sparred lightly with him once (not full contact or serious, just practice trading light blows), were completley different in level, i may be higher in rank but he's bigger muscle-wise, i tried to avoid getting hit since he was strong, i blocked one of his kicks with my hand, im so luckily to still have it functioning properly :P. If it was full contact (meaning we can use throws and locks and the whole package) i might have stood a chance since my area of specialization is self defence, sadly i cant strike better than any of the older guys (which is why im doing lifting ). So to sum it up, if your fast and know pressure points, joint locks, and chokeholds you'll have a chance if you can avoid hits and attack the neck cuz its the thepart of oyur body that can take the least pressure or force. Its all about fighting smart, the sooner it end the less someone gets hurt, i dont like hurting people .
tl;dr.

I always wondered how sick it would be to see Ronnie Coleman or Jay Cutler as like a running back in the NFL. Sure their slow but would take a hell of alot of people to take one of them down.
i wouldent want to because im only 15 & i dont condone violence any more tis ironic that i got into bodybuilding to become a more peacefull person, and put my energy into something constructive
Pacifist, think he's asking what it would be like, not how greenpeace you are.

Of course muscle has a factor in a fight, look at pros like brock lesnar and batista, huge bb'ers with a hell of a lot of strength then again they do have a lot of martial arts experience, but im pretty sure if someone like johnnie jackson got a hold of you he could hurt you pretty bad, even though most of it depends on skill and technique

the reality of it is there are pro's who have seated shoulder pressed 405 for full rom reps.
Anyone can pretend to be fast, acting like they are in the movie home alone crawling between the slow bodybuilders legs and hitting them with paint cans attached to ropes.
But the reality is that you 200 and bellow teens could be picked up and thrown against a wall like a rag doll by allot of big ass bodybuilders. Were talking 315 for high rep full rom shoulder presses.
and they arent fat, and they do tons of cardio, and whos to say they cant fight? Someone who took the time to get that big may very have wrestled or boxed when he was younger.
that guy is a pro and would knock the **** out of anyone here, being big doesnt slow him down.

Size isn't everything in a fight, but it sure as hell matters.
But still, the bigger guys aren't always better. Look at Bob Sapp, what a ****ing joke. What about Kimbo Slice? He's huge, but come on..he's pathetic. Put Tyson in his prime against Kimbo Slice in his prime, and Kimbo would get killed, even though he weighs like what, 100 lbs more? So a smaller guy, who is still a lot bigger than average, and who has experience with martial arts, could kick any pro BBer's ass.

Depends on what you know, not just strength. Customer kicked off in the shop today, I'd say the guy was easily 6'5 and about 220+, staff member who used to work for the Mexican special forces (guys about 5'7 and 170-180) had him down in about 15 seconds screaming like a girl. Strength will only do so much, rest is technique.
