Gaining as we get older

I thought I would add to the discussion here since I am over 35 and have been training for over 30 years and competing for 10. My first contest was in 2001 at Venice Beach, Calif and I weighed 159lbs at 5' 10". I was 55 years old and had always been lean. I went on a quest to add muscle and lose fat to see if it could be done as I got older. Since then I have had several bf tests done under water and went from 9% to around 6% now and have gained almost 20lbs of lean muscle and currently weigh 185lbs. So I know it is possible you have to become instinctive about your body and be consistent in you training and learn how to eat and it really is all trial and error. Trainers are not the answer in the end you have to learn what works

Welcome to our site. Please let us know what you are up to and we will follow along. Also it is not only nice to have cyber company from someone else from here in La La Land but who has also ventured out onto Venice Beach. I have their O40 and O50 under my belt and only a 2nd in the open (when I was 46). As a warm up for the big prize this comming mid July I will do the Open Muscle Beach for the first time in 24 years as a warm up. See you there?
