There should be no bad side effects from creatine supplementation.

The things you mentioned earlier about weight increase being water weight is actually a good thing. Having your muscles properly hydrated and volumized puts them in a more anabolic state. When stopping creatine use you may see a rep or so lost in strength but not necessarily.

so basically creatine is perfectly safe for people aged 19+ according to one of th studies posted here. Thats great but most of us already know that. I think they should be studying 16+ to see the side effects. Does anyone have solid evidence that 16 year olds will have no short term or long term problems after taking creatine.

You most likely aren't going to find studies done on minors regarding a bodybuilding supplement bro, so make an informed decision based on what you do know and have available.

Because at 16 you aren't educated enough on the subject to be using it anyway, as you just confirmed. Research it yourself and learn how it works, and explain to the guy why there is no reason it shouldn't be safe. You say you've been training for a year and your gains are slowing down, well duh, when you first start lifting your gains are best. I doubt your diet is optimal, look at that before you jump to supplements. The less you depend on them the better off you are.

wtf you think just coz im 16 i dont have an optimal diet? Seriously that post pissed me off ive probably read 50 times more than you about creatine, and bodybulding in general. I didnt say gains shouldnt slow down, i just said they did and i wanna give them a little boost! STop acting like im an idiot.

You cant say there are no reasons creatine cant be safe for 16 year olds, why are they hesitant to study it then in the first place? If it hasnt been studied, they you cant say there are no reasons it cant be safe.

lol if you've read 50 times more than me about creatine you'd know the science of it and not have this problem. and reading these forums does not always constitute good knowledge. studies give you a general idea of what is happening; there shouldn't be any differences between a 19 year old and 16 year old for how creatine works. theyre not hesitant to study on 16 year olds, just no reason to as im sure they don't want to promote usage at that age

Studies cost money, and nobody wants to spend money on studies about creatine and 16 year olds.. end of story.

i have, but again, why doesnt anyone wanna promote creatine usage in 16 yr olds if theres nothing wrong with it? And the science is the same but it could have a diferent effect on 16 yr old than 19 yr old, especially coz my body is still not completely developed. I have taken a look at the stickys but i ddint get a definite answer to if they have studies for 16 yr olds or not so .

Anyway thanks everyone, ill probably end up taking creatine haha

organs and creatine

one trainer told me it could stunt the growth in organs in a teenager but he also did not give me any studies backing up that statement
