Eileen was right.
**SIGH** I have yet to do a proper carbup since I started this whole thing. I ate more carbs in the past two days then I have had in the past 5 months and lo and behold...my muscles actually filled back out. I felt like the incredible hulk this morning. I didn't look puffy or bloated like I expected to look...I just looked way more muscular. I really didn't expect that. Maybe I should cut myself a break more often and just do the damn carbup!

S.O.U.P....I think you know that I have issues with carbs. lol. I honestly have trouble stopping if I start. The only thing that kept me in check today was that I was stuck in the Bozeman airport with no food. I don't know how people have the self control to down carbs and know when to stop...and then switch back to really low carbs again. After the past two days I can see how people just say screw it...I want to eat like a normal person. lol.

Easy way to solve that. Eat a dinner with carbs, then stop and go to bed. Wake up the next morning with your usual low carb routine.
That's been my routine for a while now. 2 carb "free" meals per week and they are usually dinner so that I can go to bed and stop eating or even thinking about carbs.
Also, you could file this away in the i told you so section for LOTS of people.

this^ in my entire time on keto i have had so much trouble losing bf because i had over board carb ups, and now i am staying on one free meal a week, because skipping any sort of refeed has just caused no weight loss. Seems to be working out well, because my waist went down another inch in the last few weeks.

This has always been my trouble too. It seems like once I eat carbs I want to go garbage dumpster mode and start eating them by the truck load. So now I'd always eat a good sized portions of fibrous vegetables before carb ups and make sure during your carb ups to get plenty of fiber in it will help you to keep in control.

I'll often have an apple and a bowl of strawberries/raspeberry/blueberries to start my carbs ups since they all are a good source of fiber and vitamins and don't have massive carb amounts that get the insulin to spike as much.

Knowing that i get to eat carbs again next week makes going off of them much easier.
Aslo, on some of my carb ups, i've had to force myself to eat carbs. It does happen, even for a carb lover like me.

I keep ending up sick after a carb up, bloated and vomiting and blood sugar swinging all over the place after a carb up.
I think I do not like them much but I have to admit I feel weak as hell by the end of the week when lifting.
I do not even go overboard! Just fruits and veggies ...well ok I go to starbucks for a coffee also.

For what it's worth, I tend to carb-up during the week, and do it at home, with food I have stocked up, all ready for the occasion. I've discovered the hard way that carbing when I'm on my own in town, for instance, leads to things like deep-fried Mars bars......

Im gonna do carb-ups by feel now...I used to do carbups every weekend, no matter how I felt. I want to keep my carbs clean from here on out because I am a Dairy Queen Reese's PB cup blizzard with caramel sucker!! Ill take eileen's advice and keep them in the middle of the week and do my own food prep. I liked the carb ups on the weekend because my wife and I could go out to eat and not have to be careful because of my diet...but I tended to overdue it alot...

I feel your pain. I am still having trouble getting back on track after the vacation last week. I have got back on and fell back off twice now. Starting tomorrow morning it is back to hard core though. F'n carbs, I hate them with a passion...but they are soooooooooo good.
