My ring is hard to get off.
I don't lift heavy- yet.
I like gloves.
But ... it is much safer to take it off.

I have a cyst type growth on the tendon under my ring which was probably caused by wearing the ring in the first place. When I lift the preasure of the weight on my ring pushes on the cyst and causes my finger to hurt all the way to my wrist. For this reason I take it off before lifting.

My workout glove covers mine, so I'm not overly concerned with getting it caught. But it's already bent, so I've started removing it just to keep from completely destroying it.

Exactly why I remove mine. Plus mine is not a solid band, but three braided double-strands of tri-color gold. (Pic attached, although it's hard to get a good detailed shot).
Funny thing is that I just thought about this thread. I went to put my ring back on after lifting, and it wasn't in it's box. Then I realized the it was already back on my finger. Taking it off and putting it back on has gotten so automatic that I'm not even aware that I'm doing it.

Well, thanks boys.
I was thinking of this thread when I took my ring off at the gym today.
I looked at it again tonight and I just realized the ring was still at the gym.

I leave mine on. My rings inner has a smooth edge just for this purpose of not digging in.

I take my ring off even when I do the treadmill. I just dont like it on. For some reason it distracts me. Its a large heavy titanium type ring and thats some of the problem..
BUT when I was in construction I was always breaking my normal ring, so the wife let me pick one out that wouldnt break.

Sorry. I have a very very strong constitution and there ain't much that can tip me over the edge.
However......
I've just had fajitas. I've just thrown them up. Serious.
Thanks Ed.......
In addition to this, I could help but see the irony in the thread title:
Problem lifting with wedding ring
If I wasn't married, I'd be lifting 6 days a week! Hehe.........
